Living peacefully in the Boreal forest, me and my German Shepard Bruno decided to take advantage of a milder day and venture up to the top of the hill near by.
This is one of Bruno's favorite stomping ground but because of the cold and deep snow we have been ending our walk only part way up the trail which had been plowed and decided to wait until Spring before we head up to the top which had drifted in with deep snow.
Now it is Spring and we had a milder day and noticed there was a bit of a trail through the snow to the hill top so off we went.
It was a little difficult going for it was only dog tracks making a trail, not human tracks. We made it to the opening and was surprised to find a pristine hillside, with fresh unmarked snow.

The dogs had veered off the trail into the bush and had not gone onto the hill top. Bruno was getting excited so I turned him loose. The snow was so deep he had to kind of lope through the snow...
And then he had to have a roll in the deep snow! He loves it so!
Here is some different views from on top of the hill -

As I looked to the west I saw a great sweep of mostly unmarked snow.

I stopped and took a couple more shots as Bruno as he came down the hill, trying them with different effects.

Heading home we stopped to listen to the calls of the birds coming from the spruce tree tops. With the milder weather they had become very active. I believe it is the redpoll and grosbeaks calls I was hearing but I could not see them.
I hope you enjoyed this journey through the snow to the hill top!
I love my walks through the forest and especially up to the hill tops leaving behind all the concerns of the world and being wrapped in the wonders of nature!
