Today is The hump day of the week and time for a @wednesdaywalk hosted by @Tattoodjay and #makemesmile hosted by @elizacheng.
Starting out I see Mr. Robin Redbreast busy Looking for this breakfast of earthworms. Seeing him always makes me smile. :)
I pass by one of the piles of firewood that Hubby has been working on to split for next winter’s supply.
My Wednesday Walk took me along the forest Path to see what damage the winter had done to the trees.
These birch tree had grown in a pack and somehow the winter wind must have caught them just right to pull the roots right out of the ground.
Some fungi growing on one of the birch.
Only the strong survive in the forest. This spruce tree is another casualty of the winter.
I walked to the stream that runs through the property and see many fallen tree branches that need to be cleaned out of the water.
At the end of my walk, I spy a large anthill on the side of the path. By the two holes in it, some creature must have tried to reach inside and have a feed of ants. Now that spring is here these industrious little insects will start roaming and gathering for the hill.
As long as the ants stay in the forest and don’t start roaming near the house and trying to get in, I leave them in peace.
Everyone is probably getting a little antsy with the isolation but if we work together we can beat this pandemic.
