Introduction
Today's crafting 4 Christmas part is a simple one and one where I use a can that I'd otherwise have thrown out. You can do this craft even with small kids as long as you supervise the cutting part.
One small tip I want to give you upfront, check the edges of the can before you start decorating it, because there might be a sharp part or two on the edge where you opened the can. I solved it using a tool to flatten this sharp edge by pinching it.
Here's what you need
Just a few items needed for this simple DIY craft!
- empty can
- white gesso or normal white paint
- red paint
- brush(es)
- glue gun
- Scissors
- Knife
- A strip of black cardboard for the belt
- A square of gold glitter foam for the belt

And there you have a Santa style can that you can use as you please. My daughter decided it was a good pencil holder, so it's used for her pens here.
Even though this can is used as a pencil holder, it still adds to the holiday cheer inside our home because it's decorated in Christmas style.
