Hello friends, my experience today is quite unique and understandable. I have to share this idea why people must avoid setting up their soaker pit on the road side. The road side I mean is avoiding building a soaker pit to where people constantly pass as a measure walking road. Also avoiding building the soaker pit where flowing rain water or flood passes.
I'm not an architecture or a building engineer but a teacher and a lover of Agriculture. I'm only sharing the knowledge because I learnt it from my father who is an engineer. So don't be surprised but focus on the little knowledge I have to share.
I visited my grandmother's village to see how our old house and other properties are doing. Why I went to check my grandmother properties is because non of the male children is within the village axis. So most time I do it. But when I visited recently, I was surprised that an empty land where we used to throw away waste been has been built with a house. The building is okay and I have no mush knowledge to talk more about the building itself.
When I was walking around the building, I saw that a soaker pit has already been set. Seeing the soaker pit and where it was constructed was a surprise because my father used to tell me that it's not advice able to build a soaker pit close to a house that was built on a land where waste been used to be thrown away.
My father said even if you want to build a soaker pit to such an environment where wastes used to be thrown, you don't need to construct the soaker pit from the sloppy side but it should be from the side. He said, the process of digging the soaker pit can entirely affect the building with it sound.
From my own point of view, the soaker pit was built to where the public constantly passes through. If the soaker pit is not quickly closed, children, the aged, and others may fall inside the soaker pit which they may not be able to survive the outcome. If you must set up soaker pit to a road where you are aware that is a measure road and people follows through the road, you must do the construction quickly by covering it immediately.
Another thing I have to say about the soaker pit is that it was built where rain water is flowing. When I came back to monitor the soaker pit this morning, I saw that the soaker pit is already filled up with water because it rained last night. If you can look at the wall of the building well, you'll see some crack closer to the soaker pit and it's an evidence that things are not well with the building because of the soaker pit affected by rain water flow.
When I saw how the building was affected by its crack, I quickly called the engineer that is handling the building and told them that they need to chain the soaker pit round. By chaining the soaker pit round, the soaker pit and the building will be protected. Even if the soaker pit is covered and rain water flows from the up side, it will not affect anything.
When I told the engineer everything, he quickly called a carpenter who came immediately. The carpenter started fixing wood that will be used to chain the soaker pit.
