Well, the deer did not make it. I went up to see if it was alive mid morning and found it dead and foamed from the mouth. My very large suspicion is that the little buck ate a big pile of sweet cob that people just love to bait deer with for hunting around here. The way that he was holding his back in an arch and the tail to the side, I am pretty sure the dude got bloat and with no grasses around he could not meter his stomach. I would have been able to save it if I had known for sure but I did not want to just throw stuff at it without some kind of idea. It was only after I saw the foam from the mouth that I realized having seen it in my sheep before.
Still not knowing absolutely what killed it I drug the carcass off to our bone yard up the trail in case it is something like hemorrhagic fever or blue tongue I want it far from my animals.
I had called first thing in the morning about the conex and got a call back after an hour or so from the father. Around 11:30 I got a call from the son who was to bring the conex in and he said about an hour he would be here but it was closer to 3 hours later. I was able to go get the boys from school and was home for about 15 minutes when they showed up.
It took them a bit to get it set in place as they could only get so far back with the ice.
They got it slid back and onto the one railroad tie and after a healthy amount of work they got it straightened with the lean-to.
I sent a pic to @stryeyz and she instantly sent back the name of our conex, The Tardis. We are going to end up painting this end like the Tardis as it will withstand the weather better than wraps or anything else. I know the thing is going to settle a fair amount come spring time so I am going to be prepared to do some shoring and cribbing to make it right. I have my 20 ton bottle jack so will be able to lift it even with it full of stuff.
The snow had not even started last night and the school already said 2 hour late start. 30 minutes ago we got the call that it is canceled for the day. We have about 4 inches so far.
I just got done clearing her car so she can go to work and clearing the gate so it will open. We have 4.5 inches so far and it is still dumping and looks to all day long.
Today I have to get power and lights into the Tardis then I have a load of bins from the house that will be getting moved in first which will allow me the room to get our Christmas tree setup once I cut it from the hillside. Lots of snow moving today will be the biggest task but thankfully the snow is pretty light and fluffy.
