Have your goats ever reached the point of stagnated growth and poor health to the point where you begin to wonder what exactly is wrong with their health? Well, you might have to look out for worms and parasites now.
As we journey through you will get to find out how the worms and parasites got in and how you can possibly deworm your goats to ensure everything goes back to normal.
Taking care of goats isnโt only about feeding them well or providing shelter. Goats can easily pick up worms and parasites in so many ways, and these hidden threats can cause real damage if you donโt plan ahead of them.
๐ฟ Why Deworming Matters
Goats are highly susceptible to internal worms, like roundworms, and external parasites, such as ticks and lice. These parasites can cause weight loss, poor body condition, weakness, and even death if left untreated.
Thatโs why I am giving them this treatment, which includes two different types of dewormers.
One is Ivermectin Injection, which is very effective against ticks, lice, and gastrointestinal worms. The other is Albendazole Suspension, which complements the ivermectin to help cover a broader range of parasites and make the treatment more effective overall.
worms can be gotten from the animal eating grasses which have turned into a hiding place for these worms because there was no rainfall over a long period
So the parasite and worms don't just come from dirty shelter or poor feed but from little places like their grazing field, which makes it highly important to deworm our goats regularly to prevent things like this.
When last did you deworm your goats and how often do you deworm them?
