HELLO HIVE
The rainfall has become a really big problem for me with our farms looking so dry these days compared to how they used to be, swampy rice farms have become so dry that the ground is showing cracks all over it.
This worrying sight has caused many activities to be put on hold pending when the rain begins to fall consistently but time is not on our side anymore, we are already in September and by now we ought to be applying fertilizers to the rice and the rice should have already grown to some extent, but the reverse is the case with some farmers like me still struggling to plant all our farms because of how dry the land is.
Irrigation is not possible for most parts of the land because of its distance from the river and the absence of any close water source.
Now, I have been waiting and hoping that things get better as early as possible but then the time isn't going to stop and the year is gradually moving.
There have been years in the past when we have heard irregular rain patterns like this but, in those years the rainfall lasted longer than it used to we had rainfall during November which wasn't very usual and even if there was it was usually not much but now, would it be wise to place my faith on such a miracle happening or look for alternatives when I can't still find any yet.
This is the huge dilemma faced by most farmers, especially those farming rice, the cost of food is high and a way to control this is for our farms to provide good crops to feed lots of families but if things continue like this then we have a big tax in our hands.
