The rainy days have arrived at our place.
And after the drought, everyone is happy.
I have a young pear tree that has produced well.
But now the fruits are heavy for the weak pear, they are getting bigger every day. And the rain is not that dangerous, but in combination with a little wind it threatens to break the pear tree.
So I had to do something quickly.
The choice of materials isn't the best but I made do with what I had on hand.
I found a few old boards and battens. I took the nails out of them.
I fixed some of the nails that I could, so I could use them again. And I already had some old nails, just in case I needed to use them here.
Night was falling quickly, so I didn't have time to even out all the boards and battens. And there was no need to.
I just evened out the ends so they were the same length.
And nailed the boards and battens together.
Then I added boards crosswise as if I were making a ladder. I also attached them with nails.
The support for my pears is finished, now I just had to dig it into the ground.
It was getting dark and it started to rain. In order to get it done, I didn't dig it in, but I hammered it into the ground with a big hammer.
The job was done quickly, the pear holder is stable. It resembles a ladder. The pears leaned nicely against the support, I additionally secured the ones that were further away with twine.
I don't usually work this quickly.
But I plan and prepare everything well.
The current situation required it.
I was sorry that the wind breaks the thin branches of the pear tree, which are already sufficiently burdened.
