My hubby had been working hard to build a self-sufficient life.
As part of his homesteading journey, he decided to start raising chickens.
To do that, he created an incubator to hatch eggs.
He researched different incubator designs, studying temperature regulation, humidity control, and the optimal conditions for hatching eggs.
He gathered materials: a plastic bucket and lid, a heat lamp, and a thermometer to monitor and maintain the perfect environment.
He carefully assembled each part.
And finally, the incubator was ready.
It was a container lined with cloth, with a heat source above.
He placed the fertilized chicken eggs in the incubator, setting the temperature and humidity levels just right.
He said we have to wait 21 days to have the chicks.
As the days went by, we watched over the incubator like proud parents. 😂
My hubby checked the temperature several times a day, carefully documenting the progress.
And one day, finally! The big day arrived!
It was the evening of the 21st day when my hubby noticed the first sign of life. A tiny crack appeared on two of the eggs.
Our hearts raced with excitement as we watched in disbelief, as a tiny beak emerged.
We also started to hear the first peeps coming from the inside.
It was a sign that the eggs were hatching!
So on the morning, one by one, the eggs began to hatch.
Fluffy chicks chirping and flapping their tiny wings.
Our homesteading adventure transformed into a lively nursery filled with soft peeping sounds and feathers.
Over the next few days, my hubby took care of his new feathered friends.
Providing them with food, water, and warmth.
His invention not only fulfilled his dream but also experienced the joy of watching life unfold right before his eyes.
Our homestead was coming alive, and the incubator had played a crucial role in bringing new life to our farm.
We were proud of what we accomplished and couldn't wait to see the chicks grow into healthy, happy chickens.
Until our next homesteading journey... Buh-bye. 👋💗
