After the successful hatch of our chicks, our homesteading journey was expanding.
And so, we decided to buy more fertile eggs to put in the incubator.
My hubby carefully selected 10 eggs.
We had done it once before, and now we were eager to see the results of our new batch.
The waiting game began.
We monitored the incubator, tracking temperature and humidity levels.
And after 20 days, we started to see the eggs pip.
We can already hear the sound of the peeping chicks, and we couldn't wait to watch them successfully hatching.
As we anxiously checked the incubator, the tiny beaks poked through the shell, and the chicks began to break free.
The wait was finally over!
The fluffy little chicks come out. They are wet and wobbly at first, but soon drying off and fluffing up. 🥰
Out of the 10 eggs, 3 of the eggs didn't make it.
Despite our best efforts, they didn't develop or hatch.
But still, we're happy for the 7 healthy chicks.
That experience helped us to improve our incubation process for the future.
As of now, we are thrilled with the 7 adorable chicks that have successfully hatched.
They are now growing and thriving.
It brings us closer to our goal of self-sufficiency.
We're excited to see them mature into healthy chickens, providing us with fresh eggs.
It's true, our homesteading journey taught us about patience and hard work.
But, we're grateful for this journey and look forward to many adventures that lie ahead on our homesteading path.
