Hello my beautiful and handsome freinds in @homesteading community, happy blissful day to you all, hope all is going very well, nice to meet you all again, today i will be sharing with you all on the step by step process of how to produce pap from maize, known as Ogi.
Pap is a very popular and favorite breakfast for everybody made from maize, a lot of people like buying it from the market but preparing it at home is the best because some of the market ones are normally mixed, i know that making it is not easy, it needed some time to prepare it, we like planting maize because some of them will be using to produce pap or eat, we also sell some, this season we couldn't plant enough maize, this particular one was mainly for the pap use at home.
So we kept it at the farm till they become so dry then we went and cut all of them out and took them home, the next day we removed out all the pills and dry them on the sun, some days later they got dryed.
Then we removed the maize out of their bounch and watch them very well, so I soak them on the water inside the basin for them to be soft.
After soaking them the next day i removed them out from the water and selected all the spoil one so that the pap will look very clean amd nice, so i put the good ones imsidw a ruber and went to grinding shop and grind them very well.
Grinding them is the main part of making the pap, the next thing after the is to use a clean net to sieve it very well and remove out all the maize pill properly.
Well it was night already because i started the process at evening time, so after sieving it i put them inside a clean bag and remove out the some starch water then start eating it the next morning,
There are many names given to it, pap, akamu, ogi or agidi, it's a very sweet and delicious breakfast, it's very nice to give to the babies, there are different ways of using this maize to produce different kind of breakfast at home i hope with the few step that i explain it will help you someday.
