I want to use this medium to greet all great Hivers. How has been your day so far, hope you are all doing good? I'm positive minded that it's all well and fine.
Brooding in poultry in simple terms can be defined as the maximum attention and care given to day old Birds/Chicks until when they can be able to withstand any natural disaster like cold. Brooding takes different forms and shapes, depending on the period that these chicks are brought in. Like example, if it happens to bring in birds during the raining season or harmattan season, it's advisable to brood the Chicks with anything that would generate heat for the birds for some couple of days.
How am I brooding my new day old Birds?
Since we are in the harmattan period where we have little bit if cold in the morning and night but a slight sun in the afternoon. I don't need to hear them, all I need to do is close down my pen with trampoline for some couple if days that no form of cold can penetrate into the Pen.
But if it's during the raining season, I would have no other choice than to brood them with charcoal and Coalpot but all what is necessary is to just let the canopy and the trampoline down and the heating will take its place.
Finally, finding time to brood your birds well will help your birds have the chance to get maximum survival which will in turn yield you maximum profit since there's no mortality rate. As you can see from the pictures above, you'd observe that the inside of the pen is a bit dark which is safe to know that all the trampoline are down even in the afternoon.
