Hi Everyone,
It's great to be here today to share with you all about what's going on with my birds on day three of their arrival in to the my birds pen where am brooding them.
It doesn't takes my day old chicks long before settling in, initially the first challenge I have with them is identifying their feed since I make use of sawdust which almost looks like the feed but they are now seems to have recognized their feeds and can carry or eat with ease compared to the first day I brought them in that I need to smash it in to smaller size.
Like I said earlier that have adapted in to their new environment, but the only thing that I need to do more everyday is to keep their pen warm and I am doing it in a local way since I don't heater to keep their pen warm and since they are at brooding stage they really need more heat to have a great results.
Keeping their house warm morning and night is something I must do and it is even very challenging because we're now in rainy season and the weather is a bit too cold which is not good for the birds during brooding.
I have been making sure to make their house warm by making use of the charcoal pot and burning some charcoal and things seems going well. Immediately they felt the heat coming from the charcoal pot, they surround it and they feel at ease because at that moment, they placed their head on the floor and it looks as if they are sleeping which means they are really enjoying the heat. Right now, I don't have any problem with the 75 birds in my pen and no mortality rate is recorded and I will make sure to keep you updated about their development. I want to make sure to share what's going on with my birds day by day but am not sure if I can really do that since my schedule is very tight these days but let see how things goes.
Thanks for visiting my blog and have a wonderful day
