Do you always blame the devil when your thoughts open the door for evil and failure in your life? We all meditate everyday, but what are we meditating on?
Your behavior portrays what is in your heart and mind. You cannot do what you are doing or behave the way you do except your mind overwhelms you to do it and this is so because you have given your mind enough cooperation to think and dwell on them.
Whatsoever consumes your mind manifest in the bodily actions and relations of every individual.
Mark 7:20-23
He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them.
For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder,
adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly.
All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”
Mark 7:20-23 says, it is the thoughts of life that pollutes a man. What you read in that verse will naturally come. It is part of this world but you have a duty to perform. Now, what then is the duty?
Capturing every thought and developing a sound mind, the way to do it is in Joshua 1:8.
The key to success or failure is in the passage, the word of God was to remain with Joshua in two places of his life, which are;
His mouth, the gateway.
His mind, the stronghold of his life. Is your mouth full of fearful and negative words? What occupies your mind? Worry and worldly thinking?
You cannot stay without thinking about anything. Your mind will either focus on the things of God, and his way of dealing with issues you are facing or you think on thoughts of anger, frustration, bitterness, and so forth.
What God mean in Joshua 1:8 is that the things you meditate on are deciding whether you prosper and have a good success or struggle through life just trying to make a living.
Allow Psalm 1:1-3 to get into your subconscious mind and remove the negative thoughts from you.
The passage is an eye-opener to any Christian who wants to succeed in life.
Self control begins with the mind. Success and failure begins with the mind.
Your environment, friends, what you watch, hear and receive into your mind to ponder daily affects your entire life.
You will never grow beyond the people who you spend most of your time with. Look around those close to you, that is the picture of who you are and where you are going.
