Just the other day, I told @jersonsweetplace that we need to begin doing workshops at this place. They don’t have to be too long, and they certainly won’t be complete, but they’re probably the most effective way of onboarding people, and effectiveness is the name of the game.
The truth is that the incentives are there, and this is the case for absolutely everyone. Jerson, for one, gets to build up his clientele even more, as if he was handing out memberships, and we all win because the community grows. There’s no downside to the whole thing, aside from possibly risking burning myself out.
All that said, I think even there I might be a little off. My friend Jerson is reaching a point where he can onboard people on his own and teach them about the first steps. And who’s to say we won’t find another key member of our community by doing these workshops?
As of right now, we have seven people confirmed. It might grow, and if it does, then I welcome it, but I might be toying with my limits as a teacher here. At any rate, my plan is to be, if anything, entertaining and to challenge the way people think about money. But of course, this goes above and beyond just money; it’s also about the empowerment of the little guy.
Jerson told me today that he’s already received some pushback from the would-be attendees, and that’s understandable. There are a lot of scammers going around these days, and in times of financial hardship, these scammers seem to reproduce like flies. So along comes a man promising an opportunity, and people’s mental immunity kicks in. I don’t take it personally, but I’m also confident I can break that barrier if given the chance.
The thing is, with the tools built by the team of @distriator, not only do I have the ability to onboard people quickly, I also have a way to destroy the illusion that this is not real. Regardless of how long this first workshop will take, in the end, they will have an account and buy some pastries for the way home.
I’m going to begin “the class” with one line, to start with a metal guitar riff, so to speak.

El otro día le dije a @jersonsweetplace que necesitamos empezar a hacer talleres en este lugar. No tienen que ser muy largos, y ciertamente no van a ser completos, pero probablemente sean la manera más efectiva de incorporar gente, y la efectividad es el nombre del juego.
La verdad es que los incentivos están ahí, y esto aplica para absolutamente todos. Jerson, por ejemplo, puede seguir construyendo su clientela aún más, como si estuviera repartiendo membresías, y todos ganamos porque la comunidad crece. No hay ningún lado negativo en todo esto, más allá de posiblemente arriesgarme a quemarme un poco.
Dicho esto, creo que incluso ahí puedo estar algo equivocado. Mi amigo Jerson está llegando a un punto en el que puede incorporar gente por su cuenta y enseñarles los primeros pasos. Y quién dice que no vamos a encontrar a otro miembro clave de nuestra comunidad haciendo estos talleres.
Por ahora tenemos a siete personas confirmadas. Podría crecer, y si lo hace, lo recibo con los brazos abiertos, pero quizás estoy jugando un poco con mis límites como maestro aquí. En cualquier caso, mi plan es, por encima de todo, ser entretenido y desafiar la manera en la que la gente piensa sobre el dinero. Pero claro, esto va más allá del dinero; también se trata de empoderar al más pequeño.
Hoy Jerson me dijo que ya recibió un poco de resistencia por parte de los que serían asistentes, y eso es entendible. Hoy en día hay muchos estafadores rondando, y en tiempos de dificultades económicas, parece que se multiplican como moscas.
