Well, if you have any disease, it is very important to consult a good doctor. Some people go to the doctor even for a small cold but today there are many people in the society who still avoid going to the hospital and if they have any disease, they start taking medicine on their own. I have seen many people who are afraid of going to the doctor and they feel that they do not know what the doctor will say and they may get some terrible disease and due to this fear they do not go to the doctor and start taking medication on their own. Nowadays it has become quite common that people search for medicines online and then get information about the medicine and if they feel that this medicine is right for their disease, then they order it online or go to a nearby chemist shop in India and buy it. Well, the government rule is that if a person comes to a chemistry shop to buy medicine, he has to show the doctor's prescription, but who follows this rule nowadays? Everyone starts taking medicines on their own and then in the end, their dreadful side effects start becoming visible.
A similar incident happened to me at the right time when I started taking medicines on my own and then it proved to be very dangerous for my health in the end. This would have been around the year 2018 and at that time I used to work in another city. Although the water of that city was very bad and I often used to have some disease or the other, but the diseases were cured by taking medicines. It was the summer time and the month of August. At that time dengue was also spreading very fast in the city. One day suddenly I started seeing symptoms of fever in my body, so I ignored it for the first one or two days because medicine should not be taken for fever in the initial stage. On the evening of the second day, when the fever was getting very high, I had a medicine for fever at home, I took that medicine and went to sleep after eating food and I also slept well but the next day when I woke up, the fever had started coming again and I took another dose of that medicine, then when I went to the office, I saw that there was no change in the fever. Then I had dinner with another friend in the evening but there was no change in my fever and it was increasing more. I was not getting strength to walk and my legs were also getting very weak. Along with this, I had also stopped feeling hungry. My condition was getting worse. Firstly, at that time, dengue was spreading in the whole city and I was also seeing some similar symptoms in me. After 2 days, I went to the office in the morning and my condition had become very bad when I reached there. I was not able to sit and the weakness had become so severe that I was not even able to open my eyes. I called my office colleague and said that my condition has become very bad, please take me to a nearby hospital and get me checked up. There was a nursing home at some distance from our office and he would take me there and when I was examined, it was found that the platelets in the body had decreased and there was also an infection in the stomach. I was scared because I did not understand how this happened. Then the doctor told me that if I had come a few days later, my condition might have become worse.
Then the doctor prescribed me some medicines and also asked me to rest for some time and I took the medicines and came home. I realized how dangerous it can be to take medication on my own. I had never done this before but those days I did it by mistake and this is the result I got. It took about 1 month for my body to recover and till then I was feeling very weak and had many problems. After that day I decided that I will not take any medicine on my own, whatever medicine I take, I will take it only after consulting a doctor.
A doctor studies for many years, only then he is given a high status so that he can diagnose people's disease and provide a proper treatment for it and people take any medicine from the doctor on their own and in the end they get to see very terrible side effects which can be very harmful for their health. That is why no matter how small your problem is, you should consult a doctor or a medicine specialist once because many times it happens that we know the name of the medicine but how much medicine to take and what other medicines to take with it and if it does not have any side effects then for that also another medicine has to be taken along with it, only a medical specialist knows all this. If you love your health then you should understand this.
