Climate change has turn out to become one of the biggest menace—if not the biggest—of the world today. With several cases of one effect or the other, it would be hard to say otherwise. This climate change is certainly a big concern today, if we desire to save tomorrow and save the earth. Abruptly, not just saving the earth, but shielding the inhabitants of the devastating impacts it bears. All in the newspapers and the televised media reports are cases of climate concern, either ravaging a place and the inhabitants or the impending doom it presents.
Today, some parts of the world have taken measures and efforts to curtail it with advanced technology and all; but then to what extent can this hold? One thing to note about the climate change issue is how it has grossly been fueled and empowered by humans, who are largely and undoubtedly the major victims. And today, we can say with no doubt that the effect of the menace is beyond just on the earth and the environment, but also impacting and impeding the health of human beings.
One of such effects is the tendency to increase mortality rate. You can be sure that with the rising concern of climate change in several parts of the world; where it has claimed lives, more will only be the case if it's let to be. Talk of situations like diarrhoea, heat pressure, malaria and how much they could do. It goes a long way to also cause diseases resulting from food and water. The spread of waterborne and foodborne diseases are highly increased by this effect of climate change.
With the constant ravaging of some parts of the world through weather events like storms, floods, you can be sure that injuries and death casualties would be involved, also with the tendency of causing mental health concerns in the likes of depression, anxiety, feelings of insecurity and post-traumatic dress disorder (PTSD). Quality of air tend to also be affected by this climate change effects, leading to heath respiratory issues.
The case of food insecurity could also set in. With such an effect, the order, growth and systems of food can be disrupted. This resulting to cases of malnutrition, related health matters and food insecurity. All culminating, due to the impacts and implications of climate change on health concerns.
Curbing such a menace will require deliberate and efficient efforts. A system of sustainability can serve suitably well to address the climate change issues that are certainly impacting health and lives also.
Introducing sustainability in land use, construction and every possible facet of the human endeavours and labour will go a long way. Remember, climate change is ultimately and largely influenced by the activities of humans. These systems will provide an opportunity to balance things out and with time, hopefully overshadow the created concerns.
Energy efficient systems will do well to curb the issue. Implementing energy efficient technologies in our buildings, industries and transportation systems will rise to the challenge. A clear transition to clean energy sources like the solar and wind have the tendency to reduce the greenhouse effect, also providing an improved air quality.
Putting these provided solutions to use; by implementing them can work towards decreasing the dangers and challenges posed on the health of all by this climate change. Thereby, creating a better sustainable future and welcoming atmosphere, certainly improving our health.
