Spurs have resided comfortably in the shadows of Arsenal but their recent forray into the spotlight has come with a lot of noise and fans like @blanchy are certainly among the loudest and proudest. Many weeks ago, Blanchy and I made a 200 Hive bet about which team will finish above the other and with news that Harry kane might be on his way to bayern Munich, it looks like things are going in my favour.
In any case, I have to applaud blanchy's courage because unlike his Manchester United counterpart @deniskj who constantly champions the cause of Manchester united in the discord, there was some apprehension about taking a similar bet. It was a bet with similar terms but slightly higher stakes as we eventually wagered 300 Hive.
There's no easier way to put it, Denis was simply being a pussy at the start and like other Manchester United fans before him, he simply didn't want to take the bet. He went on and on about how he would take the bet only when Manchester United signed a new goalkeeper despite having DDG who just won the golden glove and a new striker, despite having the mercurial Anthony Martial.
Immediately after the signing of Andre Onana was confirmed, Denis had his dick swinging in the discord group and if not for precaution, it could have taken my head clean off. As if signing Onana wasn't an ego boost, the addition of 20 year old Rasmus Hojlund who is going to miss at least 3 weeks of football has done even more to boost his ego.
It is important to add that my bet with Blanchy was long before harry kane to Bayern was confirmed or even when Rice was confirmed an Arsenal player. In fact, as I recall, we placed the bet when Blanchy was making jokes about how Rice is going to Manchester City when the Citizens made a bit but recently out of pure jealousy, he has been referring to Rice as the "105m Gareth barry".
Now I know they say don't count your eggs until they're hatched but lets face it, neither of these teams can actually chat shit to us right now. I think Manchester United comes closest but again, there's still some way to go before they can overtake us.
Anyway, what this means is that not only will I potentially be celebrating winning the title at the end of the season, I will also be taking home 500 Hive and by that time, I'll be living in Nottingham. So, what can I do with 500 Hive in the UK?
The crypto market will not always be as horrible as it is today but for simplicity sake, lets assume that today's value of 500 Hive is what I'll be receiving at the end of the season. So that means at the end of the season, I'll be getting around $175 worth of Hive and here are some of my options
- Pay part of my rent: Right now, our rent is $700 per month, so $175 actually covers for about one week of rent
- Book a hair appointment for the Missus: I hear hair appointments are pretty pricey but with spare $175, I'd be able to pay for a hair appointment and maybe even throw in manicure and pedicure for the Missus
- Buy a lot of beer: At the current price of a 20 bottle pack of Budweiser, I could buy around 13 packs.
- Buy GLX tokens: The more business savvy decision would be to invest in crypto and $175 with of GLX at today's price would fetch me a decent volume of the token
- Visit Blanchy in Ireland: What better way to spend my winnings than simply going to the loser's house to rub it in his face.
- Convert to HBD and put in savings to earn 20% APR
All I'm saying is there's quite a lot that can do with this money it is all courtesy of Denis and Blanchy. Safe to say, I'm looking forward to the end of the season.
