It has been a fairly uneventful 2 weeks in the world of Last Man Standing. Normally by the end of week 2 one giant falls and the wave takes away with it half the last man standing field but at this stage of the competition , the majority of Hive users are still in the game which is nice to see. There has been no major upsets as of yet which may be the case that the top teams in the Premier League are pulling away from the rest.
@skanderh and @wolfgangsport were autoselected Arsenal as they did not get their team choices in before the deadline. As usual we had to wait until after the Monday game at 8pm to release the final results as Crystal Palace took on Arsenal and 4 of you chose the gunners to reign supreme in this match
Results Week 2
So as per usual there has been a couple of fallers in the second round. Our current champion @hamza-art fell on the second hurdle by picking Fulham who were convincingly hammered by London rivals Brentford 3- 0. Unlucky champ it was not your day.
@normalyf was sent packing from last Man Standing having chosen Wolves to beat Brighton but this wasn't to be as Brighton continue their 100% record with a great 4-1 win over the Wolves.
@ramadhanight chose Newcastle to beat Man City so we all know what happens when you bet against Man City. This time around Fortune does not favour the brave.
Point to Note that nobody picked Spurs with their convincing win over Man United this week. That said Nobody picked Man United either.
Fixtures Gameweek 3
First of all Congratulations to the participants that have made it through week 3. It will start getting trickier from now on because most of you picked the goliaths so you have some thinking to do over the next couple of weeks. It might be wise to look at Gamweek 3 and Gameweek 4 together like @ablaze did last year and gave me his selections at once. Let us have a look at the next round of games.
So a few interesting ones there. Chelsea Luton could be a giant killer the way Chelsea are at the moment . Surely not? Can it. I do predict the majority of you to select Chelsea there. Luton did not play last week because their stadium ain't ready yet which may incur fines from the Premier League. That said they are coming up against a bllion pound outfit so it's a must win for Chelsea. Looking at the list Gameweek 3 isn't all that scary. I would stay clear of the Newcastle and Arsenal match but other than that it looks like plain sailing. But you know what they say about Last Man Standing, the smooth weeks could trip you up especially with shock draws. Deadline for entries is Friday 25th August at 8pm. I will tag you on Wednesday evening if I have not received a selection as of yet. So we are heading into Round 3 already. How the weeks fly.
Best of luck to all remaining contestants and we will see you all this time next week.
