Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. FC Barcelona played their second preseason match today against FC Seoul in South Korea as the club prepares gradually for the upcoming new season in August. The Catalan giant beat their host 7-3 today to win the match, and I noticed a few things I will share in this post. Lamine Yamal was criticised for putting up a bad performance in Barcelona's first season as some said the number ten jersey has already given the youngster a lot of pressure when the new season has barely begun.
Lamine Yamal has been having a lot of haters for some time now as some say he is arrogant and doesn't know how to act on the football pitch. Today, against FC Seoul, Lamine Yamal produced an incredible master class as he scored two goals and provided one assist in the match before getting subbed off before the second half of the match. Now the new excuse is that it is just a preseason match, as it doesn't count, which is funny because the same set of people criticised his performance three days ago. Lamine Yamal possesses incredible quality and still has more time to improve in his quality of play.
There is no doubt that he is already among the biggest names in Football history and already a contender for the Ballon d'Or award this year. The youngster may not win the award, but there is no doubt that he has made history for both club and country which will remain for a long time. So now moving to another thing, I noticed that the match is about FC Barcelona's defence, which still has a lot of work to be done. This is an important part of the squad Hansi Flick needs to look into before the new season begins in August. The habit of conceding and outscoring the opponents may not work at all as we saw what happened in the match against Inter Milan in the UCL semifinals.
The defence needs a new structure going into next season, as it has to be solid to reduce the number of goals the team concedes in each match. I also want to commend Andres Christensen for the performance he delivered in the second half of the match. The Denmark defender showed more quality at the defence, and he scored an outside the box goal against FC Seoul, which was beautiful to watch. I am looking forward to seeing how Hansi Flick will integrate the defender into the team next season. The overall team performance was good to watch and I hope the boys have not lost that desire to press and give the game their all to the final whistle.
Rashford had a good game as well, providing an assist in that match. There were also moments when he tried to play shots past the goalkeeper into the goalpost, but was denied by the keeper. The Englishman is already bringing out the good quality he possesses, and there is still more to see from Rashford this season, as I can sense the feeling, but time will tell soon. So guys that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
