Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. About two days ago, I wrote a post about the Barcelona winger situation, which the club had yet to resolve, but today things have changed as the club made the right decision in going for Marcus Rashford this summer. Barcelona and Manchester United came to an agreement for the loan of Marcus Rashford to the end of the season. In the deal, Manchester United put a mandatory buy clause, which was up to 50 million euros plus. Still, Barcelona reduced it to 35 million euros.
Manchester United made precautionary measures on the deal as they put a fine on the deal if Barcelona decides not to buy Marcus Rashford next summer window. It just shows Manchester United have closed the door to Rashford, as the Manchester United manager doesn't see Rashford in his long-term plan at the club. The decision will be up to Barcelona to purchase Rashford next season or pay the precautionary fine placed in the deal by Manchester United. In my last post, I explained how this move for Rashford was the best decision for the club at the moment.
FC Barcelona will save more money this summer than entering a bidding war with Bayern Munich for Luis Diaz this summer, which I believe the club is not ready to enter into that kind of situation this summer. The problem of getting a new winger now will shift to next summer's window, which I doubt will be a problem since the club will purchase Marcus Rashford, depending on the player's performance this season. Marcus Rashford will have to give his all this season on the pitch to convince the club to permanently purchase him from Manchester United.
This deal was never an issue for Barcelona as personal terms between Barcelona and Rashford went smoothly as the player said yes to the club. Rashford didn't need any assurance of the club registering him for next season as he trusts the club. Rashford has always wanted to move to Barcelona since January, when it was a possibility, but Ansu Fati's decision not to leave in January made the deal complicated. The Englishman was waiting for Barcelona this summer and will still be waiting till the end of the season to explore other options if the move to Barcelona is 100% not possible.
Rashford will be in Barcelona today to complete his medical exams and join the team in training immediately as he will be travelling with the squad for the preseason tour. This deal wouldn't have happened if not for Hansi Flick as he pushed for the signing of Rashford. The winger problem is solved now and the club can focus on other projects. There are talks of getting a full-back this summer, which I will go into deals once the players the club is pushing for are revealed in the coming weeks. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
