The education system of my country is at a pace where it is advanced as compared to the past. The subjects that were taught in the past were limited to just these, which were Maths, English, *Social sciences and Elementary sciences.
But presently, the subjects being taught have increased greatly and so has the scope of learning broadened as well. From those four subjects I listed above, the subjects now being taught are fifteen in number and that's just for the primary schools alone.
For the secondary school in my country, they take as many as eighteen subjects except the final class students who take only nine subjects in view of their O'level examinations.
Then moving on to the tertiary schools and universities, the courses of study are numerous and some of these courses are irrelevant to the outside world. They have no use whatsoever once you leave school and yet these courses and subjects are being recycled year after year.
If I can, I would like to change some subjects being enforced on students. For example, subjects that border around history should be scraped out of the curriculum at least for science inclined students.
I think that subjects that are of high market value should be integrated into the educational scheme and syllabus. Also I would scrap out a huge part of some topics in Mathematica. Topics like algebra where students would be asked to find X and Y as unknown variables is not needed.* Am I the one that lost X and Y?* So why should I be the one to find them.
This topic is completely irrelevant to students especially in the outside world.. As long as students can understand the basic operations of Maths which are Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division ... .then they are good to go.
High market value subjects should involve digital skills and also vocational skills. Those with some skills are the ones making money presently because those without skills call on those with skills to help them solve one or two problems. This is what I call exchanging value for money.
Schools that encourage the teaching of skills into the curriculum find that their students are better empowered. They leave school not as unemployed but as entrepreneurs in the game, waiting to bloom.
My country's educational system has leveled up from what it was in the past but it can still be better improved with innovative subjects.
