QC Community Weekly Contest #150 - Education By Caelum1infernum
If you ask me, Malaysia needs to go back to teaching in English. Everyone used to understand it especially in the 90s, now the new generation can barely speak it. How are we supposed to grow as a country if we can’t even speak the global language? English opens doors, and we’re closing them ourselves.
Also, we should add Mandarin and Arabic to schools. Mandarin is powerful for business, and Arabic connects us to the Middle East as some of you know I was there for 3 years for work and they are growing so fast and it's important to be able to communicate with them. Both are smart moves if we want Malaysia to be taken seriously on the world stage.
Another thing we need? Farming skills. I see so many people with land, but it’s just empty. Nothing growing, nothing built. Why not teach people how to actually use what they have? Even basic farming could change lives. Grow your own food, start something, be self-sufficient.
We’re still teaching subjects that don’t help in real life. Instead, we should be teaching money skills, banking system, real communication, emotional control, psychology, and how to survive on your own. That’s the kind of knowledge every adult actually needs.
Change the system, or we’ll keep producing kids with degrees, no direction and no use for the real world.
