Hello #QCCommunity, I trust we are doing great and thriving. I present my write up to all the amazing users of #hive. Happy reading.
"Fame as a Tool for Influence : Power, Responsibility, and Purpose
Many years ago, I joined social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and WhatsApp etc. I did this out of my desire for genuine friendship, impacting people, adding value to the communities, learning and unlearning. As time went on, the commercialisation of social media platforms began, and things changed. Scammers took control, and the platforms became toxic with bullying, hostility, and a growing culture of fake living. While this was happening, some users were ghosting others, and many demeaning activities were happening. That transformation caused many genuine users to withdraw while searching for a better platform to express themselves. I was one of them. Even though I have a reasonable followership on Facebook and LinkedIn. The fake life on Facebook made me skeptical about it, so I reduced my usage of the platform and searched for a better alternative. After many years of searching, I was introduced to #Hive by #Ivyann just two months ago. My experience here has been exciting, as I continue to acclimate to the platform, learning and unlearning new things every day.
Fame comes with being well-known and recognised because of the perceived impact or value an individual is adding. It has to do with a person's talent, achievement, presence, visibility or influence,
I am two months old on #Hive; therefore, with my level of activity and engagement, I would not consider myself famous on Hive. I am still acclimatising to the platform. However, I would consider myself to be adding value and impacting lives on my social media platform. This is because I organise recruitment activities through the platform and some other social media platforms.
Furthermore, I would say that my content on LinkedIn and Facebook, or any social platform, impacts, inspires, informs, or entertains my connections and the public audience that comes across my post through the feeds. I wouldn’t say that I am famous yet.
On the other hand, I would prefer to impact and continue to add value while connecting and building genuine relationships with like-minded individuals on social media platforms, including Hive. My being famous wouldn’t be about having followers and likes. So, I know that with time, effort and consistency, the followership will come, and gradually, I will rise to fame.

**How would I feel if I became famous? **
If I become famous, it will be with a deep sense of mutual respect for the community, gratitude for my support system, my followers and responsibility for my actions and inactions. It will mean an opportunity to continue adding value and impacting individuals, while I will leverage it to champion the cause of the voiceless. It would not be taken for granted, clout chasing or self-edification, but rather in support of diversity, equality and inclusion.
Do I think that fame would give me any kind of power? How would you use it?
Certainly, fame comes with the power of influence, attention, connection and direction. It changes the tides and challenges the norms. Power, they say, intoxicates. So, sometimes, those who achieve fame deviate from their direction and start using their fame to manipulate and intimidate vulnerable ones. However, that would not be my case, because I will positively utilise it to build, not to destroy. Lending a helping hand to newbies, promoting good causes, giving positive vibes and momentum while staying alive and thriving on Hive.
In conclusion, fame would be an opportunity for me to be known for something meaningful and not just by everyone on social media platforms, including Hive.
