Hello, beautiful people! Welcome to my blog. It's a pleasure to have you in this space. Once again, welcome 🤗
My country's education system has evolved over time; a lot has changed. There were subjects and textbooks that I used while in my primary and secondary classes, and when my younger siblings got to those classes, I noticed a lot of changes. Some textbooks were changed completely, while there were additions and subtractions in some; some subjects' names were changed, while some were merged with other subjects that were closely related. I would say my country's education system has potential; however, there are some areas that need improvement.
They ministry of education need to pay more attention to practical skills like entrepreneurship, vocational training, coding, and the like. These skills would help a lot of people after graduation; the job market is saturated, and there are a lot of unemployed people walking about with nothing to do. Some of these people are willing to learn a new skill to help them but don't have the means to pay. If such were being taught in school, it would reduce the rate of unemployed people. As they would take advantage of such skills to help themselves.
The curriculum needs to be updated as the world is evolving; it needs to fit and reflect the modern needs.
Teachers need to be paid more and provided with regular training, mostly in the government schools. Sometimes I feel they don't put in effort in teaching, and I think it's either because they are underpaid or for lack of proper training.
Which subjects should be taught because every adult needs to know this information?
Financial literacy: every kid needs to have financial knowledge even before they become an adult. They need to learn the basics of money management, budgeting, and investing. A lot of adults have made a lot of bad financial decisions because of lack of knowledge.
By incorporating some of this in the education system it would help prepare students for aldulthood.
THANK YOU FOR READING TO THE END 🤗
