Today I wan to share some photos of artificial lake of my hometown, this lake have been exist since 1980, in the past this place was functioned as Paddy field, the area changed became lake due to the need of sans supply for mega project of oil and gas company that being constructed at that time. So the contractor need rapid and massive suply of constrution material such as sand, according to the elder the sand that extract from this area is own the best character material, so that the ask the people whom own the paddy field to sell their paddy field.
After thirty two years this area has become the lake, and utilized as the Water catchment area for Lhokseumawe city, the need of daily consuption of fire fighter and the City Park Service is using the water from this artificial lake.
Massive and rapid of city must be cause of positive and negative impact to the nature, but in this case sand exploitation that had been done thirty year's ago has bring the positive impact for water catchmen area to Lhokseumawe city.
Hari ini saya ingin berbagi beberapa foto telaga buatan kampung halaman saya, telaga ini sudah ada sejak tahun 1980, dahulu tempat ini difungsikan sebagai persawahan, areanya berubah menjadi telaga karena kebutuhan sans supply untuk mega proyek minyak bumi. dan perusahaan gas yang sedang dibangun saat itu. Sehingga kontraktor membutuhkan pasokan material konstruksi yang cepat dan masif seperti pasir, menurut tetua pasir yang diekstrak dari daerah ini merupakan material yang berkarakter terbaik, sehingga meminta kepada masyarakat yang memiliki sawah untuk menjual sawahnya.
Setelah tiga puluh dua tahun kawasan ini menjadi danau, dan dimanfaatkan sebagai daerah resapan air kota Lhokseumawe, kebutuhan konsumsi sehari-hari petugas pemadam kebakaran dan Dinas Pertamanan Kota memanfaatkan air dari danau buatan ini.
Masiv dan pesatnya perkembangan kota tentunya menimbulkan dampak positif dan negatif terhadap alam, namun dalam hal ini eksploitasi pasir yang telah dilakukan tiga puluh tahun yang lalu telah membawa dampak positif bagi kawasan penangkap air bagi kota Lhokseumawe.
