Hola querido hiver.
Tenía muchísimas ganas de que llegase el pasado viernes 16 de mayo. Era la fecha escogida para un pequeño encuentro de tres de los miembros del equipo de Hive España: nos reuníamos @enraizar, @ninaeatshere y yo. Con Nina era la cuarta vez que nos veíamos, ella misma contó nuestras anteriores reuniones en su blog. Sin embargo, con @enraizar solamente había tenido contacto virtual hasta ese día y estaba deseando poder abrazarle.
El punto de quedada era la estación de tren, allí esperaríamos Nina y yo a nuestro visitante. Ella y yo nos encontramos antes en la cafetería, donde me tomé un café caro y malo, como suele pasar en estos lugares. Pero ese mal sabor de boca desapareció cuando, con puntualidad casi británica, apareció nuestro esperado viajero en la rampa de llegadas. Fue un momento increíble, como siempre digo es muy especial poder mirar a los ojos de las personas con las que tanto compartimos mediante nuestras pantallas, poder tocarte, escuchar la voz directamente... no hay nada que pueda sustituir el contacto humano.
En ese momento recibí dos regalos, me dio un poco de vergüenza no llevar nada para entregarles, soy un desastre para ese tipo de detalles. @enraizar traía un libro de mi admirado Santiago Ramón y Cajal, que será el próximo que devore en cuanto termine el que tengo empezado. @ninaeatshere por su parte nos dio algo que llevaba mucho tiempo deseando recibir: ¡una Kindness rock para cada uno de parte de @mipiano! Echamos a suertes a quién le tocaba cada color y la fortuna me otorgó el verde, que quedaba perfecto en combinación con la portada del libro. Cabe señalar que las piedras además de kindness son viajeras, pues han ido desde España hasta Austria y desde allí de nuevo hasta España para terminar en nuestras manos, jaja.
Para hacer hambre dimos un paseo por la ribera del Ebro, recorriendo el recinto en el que se celebró la Exposición Internacional del Agua en 2008. Hicimos una parada en el pabellón de España para tomar algunas fotos y continuamos río abajo hasta la zona frente a la Basílica del Pilar. Menos mal que hacía un poco de viento porque el sol caía con fuerza. Tanto es así que terminé el día con la nariz y el cuello un poco colorados.
Como ves en las fotos hay dos torres del Pilar que están con andamios, lo que desluce un poco la imagen del templo. Meses atrás cayeron algunos cascotes y están remodelándolas. Otra cosa nueva que encontré en este camino respecto a la última vez que estuve es que han dedicado un espacio a una plantación de vides. El ayuntamiento está promocionando la ciudad como capital de la garnacha, un tipo de uva típico de esta región.
Seguimos junto a la orilla del Ebro y no lo abandonamos ni para comer. Nuestra experta gastronómica sugirió el Molino de San Lázaro para el almuerzo y su elección no pudo ser mejor, tanto por la ubicación como por el servicio y, por supuesto, la deliciosa comida. Hice fotos a los diferentes platos, pero me temo que no terminarán en una publicación. Sin embargo, no puedo dejar de enseñarte el postre, que siempre es mi plato favorito, jeje. El lingote de chocolate almendrado con dulce de leche era un manjar de dioses.
Antes de marcharnos del restaurante, Nina nos hizo entrega de una bolsa de merchandising de Hive a cada uno. La pobre cargó con ellas durante la primera parte del día para aliviarnos el peso y para que pudiéramos examinar su contenido con calma. La sobremesa se alargó hasta que fuimos los últimos comensales en abandonar el local. Estuvimos tan metidos en nuestras conversaciones sobre Hive que el tiempo pasaba volando. Es genial intercambiar los diferentes puntos de vista, pues cada uno con nuestras experiencias y circunstancias vemos las mismas situaciones de forma diferente. Eso nos enriquece a todos cuando somos capaces de compartirlo y escucharnos unos a otros con la mente abierta y dispuesta a entendernos.
Tras el café (este sí que estaba bueno al contrario que el de la mañana) cruzamos el Puente de Piedra para enseñarle a @enraizar el centro histórico de la ciudad. Paseamos alrededor de la Catedral de la Seo, entramos al Pilar, subimos al Torreón de la Zuda y callejeamos por el Tubo y sus aledaños.
A media tarde nos volvimos a sentar alrededor de una mesa, esta vez para degustar unas cervezas frescas. El calor y el no parar de hablar nos dejaba la boca seca y había que refrigerarla, además de que nuestros pies estaban gritando por un descanso. Como no entiendo de este tema me dejé aconsejar por el camarero que nos sirvió y he de decir que acertó de pleno con la que me ofreció.
La cervecería Hoppy fue nuestra última parada y donde nos concentramos en hablar sobre la comunidad Hive España, hicimos un balance de lo que se ha hecho hasta ahora y pensamos en lo que nos gustaría que se haga más adelante. Como escribí antes, es maravilloso compartir nuestros puntos de vista y encontrar en la causa común que nos une el motor de motivación para seguir. ¡Vendrán cosas buenas!
Tan entusiasmados estábamos que entramos en un agujero negro espacio-temporal y @enraizar casi pierde el tren... menos mal que apareció un taxi salvador en el último minuto y con una despedida apresurada pusimos fin al encuentro.
Tal como dijimos en más de una ocasión, Hive es un estilo de vida, es más que una red social o un lugar en el que ganar recompensas. Es el sitio donde hacemos comunidad, compartimos experiencias y aprendemos de las de otros, y por eso nos engancha tanto. Gracias @enraizar y @ninaeatshere por formar parte de mi pequeña galaxia dentro del universo Hive. ¡Por muchos encuentros más!

Hi, dear hiver.
I was really looking forward to Friday 16th May. It was the date chosen for a small meeting of three members of the Hive España team: @enraizar, @ninaeatshere and I met up. With Nina it was the fourth time we met, she herself told about our previous meetings in her blog. However, with @enraizar I had only had virtual contact until that day and I was looking forward to hug him.
The meeting point was the train station, where Nina and I would wait for our visitor. She and I met beforehand in the cafeteria, where I drank an expensive and bad coffee, as it usually happens in these places. But that bad taste in my mouth disappeared when, with almost British punctuality, our expected traveller appeared on the arrivals ramp. It was an incredible moment, as I always say, it is very special to be able to look into the eyes of the people with whom we share so much through our screens, to be able to touch you, to hear your voice directly... there is nothing that can replace human contact.
At that moment I received two gifts, I was a bit embarrassed not to bring anything to give them, I'm a disaster for that kind of details. @enraizar brought a book by my admired Santiago Ramón y Cajal, which will be the next one I'll devour as soon as I finish the one I've started. @ninaeatshere gave us something I had been longing to receive: a Kindness rock for each of us from @mipiano!! We drew lots for each colour, and as luck would have it, I got the green one, which looked perfect in combination with the cover of the book. It should be noted that the stones are not only kindness but also travellers, as they have gone from Spain to Austria and from there back to Spain to end up in our hands, haha.
To make ourselves hungry, we took a walk along the banks of the Ebro, touring the site where the International Water Exhibition was held in 2008. We stopped at the Spanish pavilion to take some photos and continued down the river to the area in front of the Basilica del Pilar. Thank goodness it was a bit windy because the sun was beating down hard. So much so that I ended the day with my nose and neck a little red.
As you can see in the photos there are two towers of the Pilar with scaffolding, which detracts a little from the image of the temple. A few months ago some debris fell and they are being remodelled. Another new thing I found on this road compared to the last time I was there is that they have dedicated a space to a vine plantation. The town council is promoting the town as the capital of the Garnacha grape, a typical grape of this region.
We continued along the banks of the Ebro and did not leave it even for lunch. Our gastronomic expert suggested the Molino de San Lázaro (Saint Lazarus Mill) for lunch and her choice could not have been better, both for the location and the service and, of course, the delicious food. I took photos of the different dishes, but I'm afraid they won't end up in a publication. However, I can't help but show you the dessert, which is always my favourite dish, hehe. The chocolate almond ingot with dulce de leche was a delicacy of the gods.
Before we left the restaurant, Nina handed us each a bag of Hive merchandise. She carried them for the first part of the day to lighten our load and to allow us to examine the contents at our leisure. The after-lunch conversation dragged on until we were the last diners to leave. We were so engrossed in our conversations about Hive that the time flew by. It's great to exchange different points of view, because each of us, with our own experiences and circumstances, sees the same situations in a different way. It enriches us all when we are able to share and listen to each other with an open mind and a willingness to understand each other.
After coffee (this one was really good, unlike the morning one) we crossed the Stone Bridge to show @enraizar the historic centre of the city. We walked around the Cathedral of La Seo, entered the Pilar, climbed the Zuda Tower and strolled around the Tubo and its surroundings.
By mid-afternoon we sat around a table again, this time to enjoy a few cool beers. The heat and the non-stop talking left our mouths dry and we had to cool them down, and our feet were screaming for a rest. As I don't understand this subject, I let myself be advised by the waiter who served us and I have to say that he was absolutely right with the one he offered me.
The Hoppy Brewery was our last stop and where we concentrated on talking about the Hive Spain community, took stock of what has been done so far and thought about what we would like to do in the future. As I wrote before, it is wonderful to share our points of view and to find in the common cause that unites us the engine of motivation to continue. Good things will come!
So excited were we that we entered a space-time black hole and @enraizar almost missed the train.... Fortunately, a taxi appeared at the last minute and with a hurried farewell we put an end to the meeting.
As we've said on more than one occasion, Hive is a lifestyle, it's more than a social network or a place to earn rewards. It's the place where we build community, share experiences and learn from others, and that's why we're so hooked. Thank you @enraizar and @ninaeatshere for being part of my little galaxy within the Hive universe. Here's to many more encounters!
