ULTRASONOGRAPHY

Hello hive friends, good evening. Today I want to talk about Ultrasonography (Ultrasound) and it's different types of machine and their uses. Thanks to my dear friend yesterday @blackdaisyft for the correction and advise. Hope I should be able to improve today 😊🤗

Ultrasound is an Medical examination done by a sonologist or sonographer that transmit high frequency sound waves beyond Human hearing through a component or part of the machine known as a transducer or probe to capture live images of the internal organs within the body to aid or for therapeutic or diagnostic purposes.

However, Let me differentiate between a Sonologist and a Sonographer. A Sonologist is a physician who's highly skilled at performing ultrasound examination while a Sonographer is a Technician who's highly skilled at performing ultrasound examination.

Ultrasound is very good which helps in different types of
Ultrasound scanning examination in which some might require an overnight fast such as Abdominal scan to be able to see the abdominal organs properly while some might require a full badder such as pelvic scan which serves as an acoustic window for the Uterus in females.

Types or examples of Ultrasound Scanning Examination include:

1. Abdominal scan
2. Pelvic scan
3. Abdominopelvic scan
4. Breast scan
5. Scrotal scan
6. Transvaginal scan
7. Trans rectal scan
8. Trans renal scan
   9.Thyroid scan
9. Parathyroid scan
10. Obstetrics scan.
11. Cardiac scan.

These are different types of scan which helps in determination of abnormalities such as a cyst, mass, tumor, abcess or PID. Etc

The different types or examples of ultrasound machine are such as:
1.Sonoline machine
2.Sonosite machine
3.Sonoscape machine

2. Logic 500 pro series and many others depending on the model, complexity and affordability of the machine you want.
   Some come with a power and color flow doppler and some do not have which can be used to measure blow flow and velocity in the Human body.

However, in ultrasound there's no risk of any fear or harm as it does not uses any needles, injections, radiation or hazard substances except the ultrasound gel been used on your body which serves as a couplng agent to see your abdominal or internal organs in your body which might be a bit cold and make you feel uncomfortable but after the ultrasound examination it's been wipe away with a small piece of towel or tissue place around your lower and upper abdomen to prevent the gel from touching your clothings and also for modesty.

One good thing or part I love about ultrasound is Obstetrics scan which can show you your baby, Estimated gestational age, expected date of delivery, gender determination, position of the baby, number of pregrancy, check for any fetal abnormality, Biophysical profile of the baby and so on. It's so surprising and humorous that some are only interested for gender determination in ultrasound which is not good and advisable.

Blood test such as Serum HCG or Serum PT can only indicate or show the presence of pregrancy but cannot tell you the EGA and EDD like Ultrasound does and that is where peculiarity of profession or field of dicipline matters alot.

Well, this is little I can talk about ultrasound today as it's very dynamic and bulky.
