Greetings
Hey, everyone. This is less of a proposal and more of a suggestion aimed to see what people might think of the idea.
Background
Every new concept takes a while to seep in. Mostly because people usually only read what may look like theoretical systems with many words, often fancier than necessary, to explain them. In my point of view personally as a strict content creator dummy, this may cause confusion.
It took @thisismylife about a month to finally get me on ListNerds. The amazing part is that it didn't take me more than a few hours that I wanted the enterprise membership. Once I was on the site, everything seemed simpler and it only took a few extra questions, all were answered on the site itself, by the way, to make my decision.
My Proposal
In this post, I propose that we set aside some of our monthly mail to share and promote posts that we enjoy. I have already seen great examples of that working into hooking me into different communities and incentivizing me to follow different accounts as well as finding different contests.
That's the beauty in ListNerds; exploring different aspects of the internet and coming across interesting and enriching places. It is a platform created to spread the love around and create an inviting place where people could interact with each other and find more like-minded people.
How It Will work
The method I am proposing isn't set in stone and I would welcome any modifications in the comments. But here it is in simple steps.
Read the post and comment as you'd do normally
Add a part, in the end, stating that you will share this post on ListNerds
Those are two simple steps to do on Hive
As on a listnerds, here's what I am thinking.
Sharing these curation posts with a title like "Listnerds Curation" followed by a quick sentence of the point of the post.
Add a short summary of what the post is like for the people reading it just as you would for any post of yours
Like I stated before, this isn't exactly a new concept. I have come across many mails that did just that. In fact, I made my decision to join once I saw @rcaine and others commenting on my Comedy Community Contest after @thisismylife had shared it on ListNerds.
However, the point is to make it more focused. The difference in that would be the comment left by the person sharing the post on ListNerds would be introducing the concept, putting all the follow-up comments in context.
This will let others know that ListNerds is way more than a "Promote your post" channel on discord where people blindly drop their links with no one really reading them. Instead, they will see interactions and people genuinely showing respect and appreciation.
In my opinion, that would increase interest in more people being aware of ListNerds AND create an incentive to join, all the while having ListNerds users find more creators to follow.
That's my opinion. Please, share yours in the comment to add or correct anything.
