Greetings
Whether on Listnerds or Hive in general, I think it's easy to get lost in the numbers, the number of upvotes and downvotes, who's ahead of who, who's behind who, and many other aspects of both Hive and Listnerds. This also applies to many other tokens and fronts.
This is merely an argument and a reminder that you should never forget to have fun on this platform and not take things too seriously.
I have worked many jobs throughout my life, I had to deal with many tense, often abusive bosses who would take every extra minute out of me as they could. I remember many times when I would lose off days and vacations because my boss would simply decide that.
Not to mention, many of those jobs are also life-sucking for me. The work environment was horrible, and as I mentioned before, often abusive. I remember a time when my boss prevented me from doing a job on my day off claiming it would "distract me from my main job". That was the main reason I turned to Steemit in the first place, and then to Hive.
The whole reason many of us turned to Hive and everything related to it was a motto we often say to many: Be Your Own Boss. And in many ways, we are doing just that. Well, we are doing all the parts of being our own bosses except for the one that really matters.
What is the point of being your own boss if you're going to put yourself through the emotional stress and torment you would while doing a regular job?
Why be your own boss if you're going to treat yourself the same way your boss would? It seems like it is pointless making the transition if you will carry that mentally self-harming attitude with you along.
Don't get me wrong, this goes to me the most probably. So, it's not like I am giving you this advice from a high horse or I am carrying this wisdom to you from the top of the mountain.
I often find myself doing everything I described up there and even more. But, I think beyond actually working hard, we should have the time to have fun and be silly or at least have some relaxing time.
Having a certain type of content working out the most doesn't at all mean those should be your sole focus. Sometimes, it might just feel better creating something that will be appreciated the most by you and share it with others, and even if it goes to and gets appreciated by fewer people, it might just create a better experience than getting stuck being repetitive. Even if being repetitive is the most profitable thing you could do.
I think my saving grace upon finding the mixture of Hive and Listnerds is that I have been creating every I wanted to share. Yes, still, sometimes a work goes unnoticed by both. But, it is still something I really enjoyed doing.
As for me, I enjoy being silly most of the time. Creating meme compilations and other silly content that yes, I REALLY LOVE the fact that they make others laugh. But, I honestly think I made them because I enjoyed them and spent minutes laughing to myself about them or sharing some of those jokes and memes with others in private, mostly @thisismylife haha.
In Conclusion
Even if it's your business' growth or Hive/Listnerd account, maybe having more with it will be the most beneficial in the long term more than being angry and looking at numbers all day. I suffer from OCD, so I know that it's not easy to stop obsessing.
