One of the most beneficial ways to keep the brain active is to indulge in creativity. We can all be creative in many different ways.
It may come in the form of producing Art, producing Music, being constructive in Coding, physical building, writing stories, blog posts. Baking loaves of bread, cooking meals , getting behind a lens or even gaming and generally indulging in letting our minds eye take on the process we engage in.
Part of the creative process is to push the boundaries of what we already know, and allow experimentation to guide us.
Many of us have set ways and means of doing things, processes that have been put in place, and the tried and true mentality of not stepping outside of our comfort zone, because we know that what we engage in works and there my be fear that if we push further it will no longer work.
A big part of being creative is to show no fear, allow ourselves to step out of the comfort zone and see where it leads us. We all have a knowledge base and that knowledge base is the foundation of what we do. The foundation is the solid base with which we can then take the next step.
No matter what your indulgence is, it may be your day to day or it may be an every now and then, allowing yourself to push it that one step further will excite you and uplift you to new heights, It will allow your endorphins to race through your body and give you that natural high that you experience when something new comes along and surprises you with its attainability.
Don’t be afraid to grab some pots and plant out some flowers, don’t be afraid to grab that paper or canvas and start to make some marks, don’t be afraid to grab those pots and pans and start to break out a rhythm, don’t be afraid to throw in that extra spice in your cooking.
You already know what you are doing and by allowing your creativity to come to the fore you will begin to enhance your experience and will always remember the day that your comfort zone shifted.
If we can do this each and every day, then the results you will have achieved in 7 days time, 14 days time, 6 months’ time and even 10 years time from now will be absolutely astonishing.
Our lives are the sum of the whole, our experiences are what make us and we can start the journey of new experiences right now.
