There is no doubt that the name of Castile derives from a very specific type of architecture, which, although evolving over time, has deep roots in those barbaric centuries in which, with the empire of Argantonio having already disappeared, the mysterious Tartessos, the Roman Empire took advantage of the relaxation of the Phoenicians, Greeks and Carthaginians to install its watchtowers in a Hispania, Celtiberian and uprising, that never made things easy for it: the castles.
Of those Roman towers and later, also of those other watchtowers, representatives of a world, the Muslim one, which, starting in the 7th century of our Era, put into practice the same expansionist motivation that encouraged the whim of the Roman Caesars - who whether you believe it or not, the concept of Geopolitics is as old as the world - these impressive fortifications arose, of an eminently military nature, which mark, in better or worse conditions, a vast and legendary territory and which, converted into one of its most charismatic symbols, still remain sufficiently visible on their ancestral banners.
No hay duda, de que el nombre de Castilla deriva de un tipo muy concreto de arquitectura, que, aun evolucionando a lo largo de los tiempos, hunde profundamente sus raíces en aquellos siglos bárbaros en los que, desaparecido ya el imperio de Argantonio, la misteriosa Tartessos, el Imperio Romano aprovechó el relajamiento de fenicios, griegos y cartagineses para instalar sus torreones de vigilancia en una Hispania, celtíbera y levantisca, que nunca le puso las cosas fáciles: los castillos.
De aquellas torres romanas y con posterioridad, también de aquellas otras atalayas, representantes de un mundo, el musulmán, que, a partir del siglo VII de nuestra Era, puso en práctica la misma motivación expansionista que alentó el capricho de los Césares romanos -que, se crea o no, el concepto de Geopolítica es tan antiguo como el mundo- surgieron estas impresionantes fortificaciones, de carácter eminentemente militar, que jalonan, en mejores o en peores condiciones, un vasto y legendario territorio y que, convertidas en uno de sus símbolos más carismáticos, todavía permanecen suficientemente visibles en sus ancestrales pendones.
