I woke up around 3:00am, went to the bathroom and looked out the window for a few seconds.
I then hopped on YouTube to find something to listen to while I fell back asleep, and I stumbled upon this:
a recording of Wayne Dyer
He mentions a poem by Rumi, a 13th century poet from Persia. Which goes something like this:
The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don't go back to sleep.
You must ask for what you really want.
Don't go back to sleep.
People are going back and forth across the doorsill
where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.
Don't go back to sleep.
And it very much caught my attention. As Wayne Dyer puts it, This is the time when it's most quiet, there are not a whole lot of distractions like you normally find throughout the day and the time that you might just find some inspiration!
This is the time when you're closest to your source
I also found this lovely song by Mirabai Ceiba whose lyrics are the same poem by Rumi:
I hope you enjoy both Wayne Dyer and Mirabai Ceiba and hopefully you'll remember this when you wake up in the middle of the night.
keep your notebook or voice recorder close, they might come in handy :)
have a lovely Sunday!
