Today was one of those days I just didn't feel like facing the world...
Oh, I felt great physically and pretty stable emotionally, yet something was off when thinking about going outside and dealing with the common disfunctional functions of people around me😎

So...instead of going to the gym for my workout, I decided to train in my basement dungeon where I fortunately have some weights and a few pieces of equipment.
It turned out well. I started weight training many years ago, when fitness centers like today, didn't exist. The few places to weight train other than the YMCA (Here in the USA) was in a makeshift gym in someone's basement or garage.
Usually it was at a friends house or a place you found through word-of-mouth. Where ever it was, the places were pretty crude; dark, messy and not very clean.
There also was very little equipment and what was there, appeared to be homemade, most often. Occasionally you could find a place where someone spent a little money having a local wielder assemble some angle iron into self-designed exercise equipment.

This is probably the reason I feel quite comfortable in my own basement gym, which stinks of mildew, because it's old and raw… This house was built over a hundred years ago and though structurally sound, past owners never kept up with improvements nor spent much money on maintenance.
I'm renting it, therefore I'm not about to invest much additional money into improving a property which isn't mine...
This was my back and bicep day, primarily. I started off with dead-lifts then did a few sets of bent rows, ending the back routine with bent lateral raises for posterior deltoids. Oh...I almost forgot... I kicked in some shrugs for the traps, too.
Next, I performed about five sets of curls with an 'EZ-Curl' bar and finished with straight bar reverse curls, for about four sets.
If I was at the fitness center, I would have added some dumbbell curls as well and probably used the preacher curl machine for a few sets too.
Doing less on some days, is never detrimental to progress...it actually may help if you've been over-training a particular body part recently. A less intense session, with less movements can aid full muscle recuperation.
One day soon, I'll take some shots of my musty, old basement gym and post them to give you a laugh. I have a bulkhead type cellar door which I can open to the outside and a big fan for ventilation, in order to keep me from dropping dead.
That's it, my friends, for this time around. See ya again soon.
Ciao
