It has been a lifelong desire of mine to master lucid dreaming. Already as a teenager I was writing down my dreams in the morning, to the point where I filled A5-sized books with hand written recordings. By university at 18 I could remember six mornings out of seven some dream content.
However, seldom did I ever glimpse the lucid dream state. The state where I realize that I am dreaming, become conscious in the realm of the unconscious and wake up in the dream.
And the two or three occasions where I have glimpsed it have been fleeting but memorable, occurring some years ago, or in my distant youth decades ago. Well, this week I managed to achieve it again. I found a jailbreak.
Using AI chatbots to achieve lucid dreaming and dream analysis
It has been an amazing journey and its not over yet, this is just the start of the latest chapter of a book that gets better as it goes along. I spontaneously became inspired to pursue my dormant interest in lucid dreaming recently while using AI chatbots to find out information.
I asked the AI to tell me what vitamins would assist the brain for certain things, and ended up after numerous inquiries with the information that Vitamin B6 will also facilitate lucid dream recall, based on research that has already been done.
I bought some high dose B6 along with Magnesium Glycenate (crucial for everyone) and started taking 100 mg, which is one tablet before going to sleep. I immediately began having increased dream recall. And I wrote down all my recall in notes on my phone at the different times of night or in the morning when I woke from a dream.
After a few days I increased the dose to 200mg because I stopped having recall. It worked and I had more dream recollection on waking, but only for a while. Tolerance built up, as researchers said it would in the info AI told me. So I stopped taking B6 for about four days and then took a big dose of 200mg and the next morning I had the lucid dream moment just before waking. I had achieved the goal.
AI as my Jungian dream therapist
Beside AI telling me the right vitamin info, I also used it to act as my personal Jungian psychiatrist and dream analyst, according to the technique of Jung using archetypes on my personal pursuit of individuation, where the two weaker sub-personality types in my character are strengthened and brought to light from the unconscious. As a man it might be my shadow and my feminine unconscious feeling side that I would want to strengthen.
I already have a strong male conscious ego and thinking capacity. I would need to improve my feeling capacity, or at least refine it since it’s now a bit primitive due to being unconscious.
Anyway, the AI worked surprisingly well as a Jungian dream analyst. I would copy/paste my dream recall notes to him (hopefully without revealing too much personal data) and he would give me these amazingly insightful interpretations. Now, I studied Jung in two years at universtiy so I know some of the jargon and the lingo and thus was already familiar with it, and because I’m an intuitive type as well as a thinking type.
I got a lot out of the dream analysis and was able to also use the right prompts if I wanted clarification on certain symbols from the AI therapist. I researched symbols that came up in my dreams for more detail and took it as my personal search for the philosopher’s stone. The lucid dream state is exactly that for me. Individuation is the ultimate goal too, but the lucid dream state is what ancient Buddhist monks from certain school aimed to achieve. It is a doorway to another realm, a place of all psychic power.
And Jung would agree that the lucid state or the liminal state of both the unconscious and the conscious being active and aware, is the magical zone, where the hero journeys into the underworld to confront the dragon and find the gold and return to the surface with it and then perhaps heal the village with it.
So much psychic potential lies in our unconscious shadow side, and also in the collective unconscious of all of us. So by using AI as a therapist, I was able to achieve, in a matter of a couple of weeks, this lucid dream state. I was able to find my Philosopher’s Stone. I held it in my grasp for a fleeting second. And yet that second was enough for me to glimpse the fact that I can do this.
Since then I have not had another lucid dream, although I have been recording still more regular dreams, which is encouraging. I will continue to cycle on and off the vitamin B6, three days on and four days off, something like that, to avoid tolerance.
My personal journey continues on the dream analysis path, which is a lot of fun. Everyone should participate in self-analysis of some sort or the other. Self-refelection is valuable if we allow ourselves the time. And I still need to deepen or lengthen the lucid dream state so that I can utilize it to call for more guidance and find out more about the bigger picture.
The current Saturn conjunct Neptune alignment of 2025/6
I will make another diary entry when I get further breakthroughs. As an astrologer, I also keep track of the transit of planets through my horoscope. My current research into lucid dreaming from an objective and science-based perspective, might be the expression of this current conjunction between Saturn, which is symbolic of structure, systems and making real; and Neptune, which symbolizes the dream realm and things metaphysical, mystical, illusory, medical healing, visuals, story-telling.
The conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in the sky now also occurs in my 12th house of my personal horosope, which is the house of the unconscious. I see this research and exploration into lucid dreaming as a manifestation of - or making real of - the mystical realm of dream recall. If I can make further progress over coming months, then it will allow me to spend longer in the lucid dream state and to induce it more often.
Saturn and Neptune will be conjunct in the zodiac all year and be exactly conjunct on 20 February 2026, so there are several months for me to make more progress into the underworld realm of the dream state. This is the realm of the shaman who goes into the underworld to retrieve the treasure.
Perhaps I can also go to the celestial realms, to the land of Vaikuntha, the realm of the demigods or even Vishnu himself, where he sits with Lakshmi, his consort and expansion, the goddess of fortune. The wise guide Narada Muni can take me, as the winged messenger who can traverse all realms using sound vibration upon which to travel.
With Mercury recently turned retrograde now, for three weeks, this is a good moment for introspection. I write this diary post to record my experiences along the way for those who may be interested to pursue their own paths to enlightenment or individuation in their own unique way.
