No one wants to be blacklisted on HIVE.
Blacklisting means that you are put on a list as a suspected spammer and plagiarist, and people will see this mark against your name on your blog. This means they won't upvote you and you have to do a LOT to get off the blacklist. It's a devastating thing to happen and VERY hard to get rid of that mark against your name.
HIVEWATCHERS are responsible for the blacklist, and it can really be horrible to get a message like this on your profile.
or a comment like this on your post:
As a rule of thumb, the post shouldn't be more than 50% direct attributed quotes from elsewhere.
A directly attributed quote might look like this: 'According to Natural Medicine, it's best to attribute your quotes'. Or, you might do it as block text:
It is best to attribute your quotes. Natural Medicine
If in doubt, please come ask in the Natural Medicine channel.
This is also true for your OWN content if it's published on other blogs - you MUST attribute yourself as the writer:
This post was originally published by me on www.blogpost.com.
If it's your own Youtube link you are embedding, please ensure you have put a link to your Hive.Blog on your youtube channel. This helps Hive Watchers KNOW it's you. Many people profit from videos that aren't their own, so it's understandable that this is a rule.
Natural Medicine supports Proof of Brain - that means that we expect you to write original content. Although we try to help new users by letting them know what to do, we can't be expected to police every #naturalmedicine post.

- We want to see personal experience informing your posts - it always gets a much better result than paraphrasing content you've read elsewhere. If you want to write about ginger, tell us what brought you to that place. Is your mom sick? Do you like the taste? Is it cheap and abundant now?
- You MUST quote your sources. Please use the quote mark facility to clearly identify text you have borrowed from elsewhere.
- Your borrowed text must NEVER be more than 50% of your total word length.
- If you make a claim like "studies show ginger is good for nausea" then you MUST quote the study. Source. If you don't know how to quote sources, please ASK in the #HiveHelp channel or ask for a Mentor in the #LOTUS-Mentorship channel in discord
- Please try to use your own images. Yes, there are hundreds of free image banks online which don't REQUIRE you to source the image, but which ask you to. Source ALL images.
- We suggest adding a clause to the end of your posts in the footer, just as our friend @tattodjay does: "unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me." See the way I did that? I sourced my phrase and didn't try to claim his content as mine.
