It's normal to be sad sometimes, it's normal to need time to recover from a heavy breakup, loss of your job, death of a loved one or similar traumatic events.
But then there are those cases when life is great, you are supposed to be happy but it feels like a big dark cloud is following you everywhere you go. You just feel sad for no apparent reason, nothing really seems to interest you anymore, life looses its colors.
Over the years there were episodes when all seemed fine again and I kind of accepted my moods. But then when I changed my diet to raw foods, I saw such tremendous improvements in my emotional state within just a week and soon after it vanished completely. I knew my depression must have had a real physical cause.
Don't get me wrong - a positive mindset, spiritual practices, self-development can all be so helpful to create more joy in life. But we also have to be aware that there are often underlying physical conditions that can make it more difficult for us to enjoy life.

Underlying physical causes
The actually root cause can be toxic heavy metals in our system, often combined with EBV or other pathogens like shingles or herpes. The pathogens use those toxins as fuel and release neurotoxins in the process which saturate our brain and affect neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin. Another factor for such unexplained depression can be adrenal issues.

How can we move forward?
🌿 remove heavy metals (e.g. daily heavy metal detox smoothie)
🌿 refuel our electrolytes (incorporating cucumber juices, coconut water, apple-celery juices or adrenal snacks)
🌿 support our recovery (eating more fruits, greens and herbs like wild blueberries, spinach, cilantro, sprouts, kale)
🌿 avoid troublemaker foods (e.g. animal products, gluten, soy, processed foods, high-fat meals)
🌿 address adrenal weaknesses
