Dear prospective client,
Is authenticity really that hard to relate to? Do we really need to hide behind all these cheesy voices and demeanors that we use to attract customers or please our bosses? Do we really need to pretend we are perfect to gain each other’s trust? Do we really need to project an image of anything other than what we are?
Well the answer is basically “yeah” for a lot of people and that’s cause it’s all they know. If nobody can tell the difference between the real deal and a fake, then all we can do is care about our image, rather than what we really have to offer, because that’s the language people speak.
Well, sorry, I’m not playing that game.
I’m the real deal. I may not be the best, and I make mistakes, but I’m the real fucking deal, so if you want me to use my sales voice you can find someone else. If you want me to create a process that is meant to impress you, I’m sorry, I won’t. The process I follow is inspiration in the moment. My download speed varies depending on how awesome I am that day, but I get the job done.
I could try to put on a show. I could fake a smile for you. Would you like that? No you wouldn’t. Not if you knew. So I’m supposed to pretend and do all the things a professional is supposed to do to put your mind at ease? NOPE. Not doing it.
I can make little compromises here and there, but what you get is what I really have to offer. If it’s shit, it’s shit. But when it’s gold, you can bet it’s the real thing. None of that copy paste BS, nothing speculative, nothing made to pull you in so I can get mine...just something real.
I’ll teach you to teach yourself. I’ll teach you to heal yourself. I’ll teach you to be yourself. I’ll teach you to not need me.
I have enough confidence in the shit I say that I don’t need to make you dependent. You don’t need me. You don’t need anyone. And my only job is to help you figure that out. If that’s not your thing, I don’t know what to say other than good luck.
I am imperfect as fuck, but I have a shitload to offer. Take it or leave it. I trust that there are those who can appreciate a free flowing channel of inspiration who doesn’t follow a formula.
So prospective client...wherever you are, I’ve been waiting for you.
