IMHO, the people matter more than the president. The popularion in the United States usually moves in the opposite direction of the president.
This really hasn't happened in the last few years as Trump is such a blow hard. The people I know are so thoroughly against Trumnp that they are willing to forgive any of the transgressions of the Democrats.
Trump might win.
I am not looking forward to this as he really doesn't have any policies. The promise of no taxes on tips and no taxes on overtime are loopholes. People in power are adept at exploiting loopholes. Suddently we will start seeing billionaires receiving their pay in the form of tips and over time pay.
Trump does not have a health care plan. He doesn't have a cohesive aproach to crypto.
The only real issue he has is on closing borders, deporting illegal aliens and raising tarriffs.
The US needs border security. Sadly, it is necessary to export people for crossing borders illegal and visa overstays to create a working immigration system.
My Fear
I hold that the people matter more than the president. If Trump wins, we will see the people in the country lurch to the left. If Kamala wins, we might finally see people wake up to the deep corruption of Democratic party and the deep state.
Trump is a blowhard who suppresses debate. If he wins we will probably be plunged into an long period in which people are not free to discuss issues. If Kamala wins, we might see a willingness of people in the GOP to discuss issues.
It is really a sad state of affairs.
Voting in Utah
I live in Utah where the majority of people vote in the way that the local church dictates. So, I am used to losing every election.
I found this year's ballot quite troubling. IF you look at the ballot below you will see 8 candidates for president. The second is "Lucifer."
This has thrown me into a tizzy. I usually vote for one of Lucifer's minions. I now have to decide if I should vote for a minion or for the big guy himself?
