Hola hermosa comunidad, espero que se encuentren bien, para mi es un placer saludarlos y siempre compartir recetas que nos enriquecen el paladar. Hoy quiero mostrarles como realizo unas arepitas de harina de trigo, espero les guste. 😋
Who among us does not like to make delicious arepas? In this case, my friend, I am going to show you how to make arepas, but with wheat flour, some people also call them arepitas andinas. I have noticed that very few people make it, in fact, I include myself hehehe maybe because of the small procedure involved, but no doubt this recipe is very delicious, you can make it for dinner, breakfast, a snack, whatever you want, plus it satisfies our stomach. These are the ingredients:
- 100g wheat flour
- 60g hard cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- warm water
¿A quién de nosotros nos le gusta hacer unas ricas arepas? En este caso amigos les voy a enseñar como hacer unas arepas, pero con harina de trigo, también algunos les llaman arepitas andinas. He notado que muy pocas personas la realizan, de hecho, me incluyo jejeje quizás por el pequeño procedimiento que conlleva, pero sin duda esta receta es muy deliciosa, puedes hacerlo para la cena, un desayuno una merienda los que ustedes deseen, además satisface nuestro estómago. Estos son los ingredientes:

First I begin to sift with a sieve all the solid ingredients such as wheat flour, salt and sugar (if you want you can add a little more sugar, as I am a sweet tooth I do it hehehe) and mix it, then I expand it a little and open a little hole in the center and begin to add the liquid such as the egg and a little warm water. It is worth mentioning that some people make this recipe with warm milk, but if they don't have it, as is my case, it also works with water.
Primero empiezo a cernir con un colador todos los ingredientes solidos como la harina de trigo, sal y azúcar ( Si ustedes desean pueden agregarle un poquito más de azúcar, yo como soy dulcera lo hago jejeje). Y se mezclan, luego la expando un poco y le abro un huequito en el centro y empiezo agregar el líquido como el huevo y un poquito de agua tibia. Cabe mencionar que algunas personas realizan esta receta con leche tibia, pero si no tienen como es mi caso también le funciona con agua.

Then we start to make a mixture, in my case I add cheese, to make it richer and butter, then we start to knead with our hands. You will notice that the flour will stick to your fingers and hands. We continue kneading and adding a little bit of wheat flour until the flour that is on our hands comes off.
Luego empezamos a hacer una mezcla, en mi caso le agrego queso, para que quede mas rica y la mantequilla, luego empezamos a amasar con nuestras manos. Van a notar que se les va a pegar esa harina en sus dedos y manos. Seguimos amasando y agregando un poquito de harina de trigo hasta que esa harina que esta en nuestras manos se nos despegue.
After we see that we can manipulate the dough and that it does not stick, we can use it. It is also worth mentioning that some people leave it to rest for approximately 20 to 30 minutes, in my case only a few minutes.
Después que veamos que ya podemos manipular la masa y que no se nos pega, ya podemos usarla. Cabe mencionar también que algunas personas la dejan reposando un rato aproximadamente 20 a 30 minutos, en mi caso solo unos minutos.
We select the pieces we want to use and with a rolling pin I stretch it, in my case I like to stretch it as thin as possible, then with a container we take out our arepitas. Once ready with the desired size we add it to our pan already hot and with a little oil or butter and cover it so that it cooks very well. You must take into account that these arepitas do not take long, just a few minutes, if you leave it for a long time it will become like a cookie and truth that in this case we do not want that?
Note: When you begin to roll out the dough with a rolling pin and you notice that it sticks, add a little wheat flour to make the dough texture better and prevent it from sticking.

Seleccionamos los pedazos que deseamos usar y con un rodillo voy estirándola, en mi caso me gusta estirarla lo más delgada que se pueda, luego con un envase vamos sacando nuestras arepitas. Una vez lista con el tamaño deseado la agregamos a nuestro sartén ya caliente y con un poquito de aceite o mantequilla y lo tapamos para que se cocina muy bien. Deben tomar en cuenta que estas arepitas no tardan mucho, solo unos minutos, si lo dejan por mucho tiempo se les va a volver como una galleta y verdad que en este caso no queremos eso?
Nota: Cuándo empiecen a estirar la masa con el rodillo y observan que se les pega, agréguenle un poquito de harina de trigo, permitirá que su textura quede mejor y no se les pegue.
