Pap with beans or akara is common and popularly taken amongst most families in the south east, especially during weekends. Where the combo originated from is what am still trying to figure out. It's a breakfast that's easily made and enjoyed if one is able to get a fresh pap that will give you that wonderful taste.
With the way things are skyrocketing, those who do this as a business that sustain them buy in large quantity, process, store and sell. For this reason it difficult to see a fresh pap as the find it hard to go frequently the market everyday just to buy what the need in processing it.
I usually think the process is too cumbersome that i can't handle until i looked for pap in my area i couldn't even find, then i decided to process for the family.
Ingredients for making it
- 5kg of yellow dried corn
Step one
Just select your corn to make sure that there's no sand. Wash it well and soak over the night for two days.
Step two
After two days wash it again, then grind. Look for a sieve that will not be able to allow the unwanted parts to pass through. Keep sieving it gradually until you sieve all. Then pour into a bag that can help drain the water and leave for few hours. When's the it's about two to three hours bring it out.
Step three
Cut it into sizes of choice, that one or two can be enough when you want to make and wrap it in a nylon or any other thing that's good for you.
That's it, our pap has been processed, i do not need to go about looking for where to get it again this weekend.
