Hi I am an ultimate noodle lover. I always love to try every noodle dish, tho I have already tried a lot, I have never documented any of it which I somewhat regret. I have always been the one who introduces my friends to new dishes or food places. So in this series, I will try my best to give details about the noodle dish I try to remind me why this food is special and so I could give other reasons for my friends to try different dishes/food places instead of my usual "it's nice" comments.
So first off, BATCHOY . I am going to be honest with you all, Cebu hasn't got the best version in the whole of the Philippines but I got to start somewhere, don't I? Well I'd like to consider that this is our own version of ramen (I so love ramen btw). The soup is made from the broth of boiled beef/pork bones and secret spices (no idea what those are so let's call them secret), the fresh MIKI (egg noodle) and my favorite ingredient is actually some innards- bits of pork liver, intestine and meat, then topped with chicharon (pork skin that's been fried to a perfect crunch) the one you can visibly see on the side of the bowl and poached egg (or raw egg).
Story time. There are actually Batchoy places near my house but they are not as good as this one. This is my second time eating this there because the store is like 2 hrs away from the city. Whenever I climb up the mountain in this area, I make it a point to drop by and eat there. So I guess, I should try other noodle variations next time. Lomi perhaps.
