VERSIÓN EN ESPAÑOL
Bendiciones para tod@s, ayer fue domingo y por lo visto ya estamos en época lluviosa porque no ha parado de llover y, por supuesto, se presta el día para compartir una sopa de pollo o como le decimos en el oriente de nuestro país, Venezuela, un sancocho.
Invitamos a nuestro hijo José Gregorio y a su esposa Andrea Elina a almorzar una deliciosa sopa de pollo, acá les comparto la receta para los que quieran practicarla.
Les aclaro que el pollo que utilizo siempre para realizar sopa es fresco, pollo que benefician el día antes o el mismo día en los comercios que los venden.
Ingredientes:
Para realizar una sopa de pollo que alcanza para 15 personas:
- 1 y 1/2 kg de pollo fresco
- 150 grs de ají dulce
- 300 grs de cebolla
- 100 grs de cebollín
- 150 grs entre celery, perejil y cilantro
- 150 grs de ajo en granos
- 2 pastillas o cubitos de concentrado de caldo de pollo (opcional)
- 1 kg de auyama
- 1 kg de ocumo
- 500 grs de yuca
- 700 grs de apio (raíz)
- 1/4 taza de aceite
- 2 cucharadas de onoto o cúrcuma
- 6 litros de agua
- Orégano y sal al gusto
Preparación a mi gusto:
Picar el pollo en piezas, enjuagar y reservar.
Picar el ají dulce, cebolla, cebollín, celery, perejil, cilantro y ajo bien pequeño.
Colocar en una olla con capacidad para 12 litros, a sofreír con el aceite, el pollo junto a los vegetales picados, reservando la mitad de ajo picado para el final de la preparación.
Incorporar el onoto o la cúrcuma al sofrito junto al orégano, los cubitos de concentrado de pollo y la sal a gusto. Revolver y tapar por 5 minutos a fuego lento para que amalgamen los sabores del pollo con los vegetales y condimentos.
Agregar el agua y dejar hervir la preparación mientras le retiras la concha al ocumo, yuca y apio. Lavas las verduras y las partes en pedazos no tan pequeños e incorpora a la preparación.
Retiras las semillas de la auyama, partes en pedazos no tan pequeños e incorpora a la preparación.
Dejar hervir la preparación por 30 minutos y al cabo de ese tiempo pinchar con un cubierto las verduras, si están suaves corregir el punto de sal.
Particularmente, me gusta en ese punto de cocción verter en un vaso de licuadora varios pedazos de apio y auyama junto al ajo que reservé y algo del líquido de la sopa y licuar.
Incorporar el licuado a la sopa revolver y probar, si gusta puede corregir el punto de la sal, dejar hervir por cinco minutos más y listo, a disfrutar de una sopa dominguera en familia.

Blessings to all, yesterday was Sunday and apparently we are already in rainy season because it has not stopped raining and, of course, the day lends itself to share a chicken soup or as we say in the east of our country, Venezuela, a sancocho.
We invited our son José Gregorio and his wife Andrea Elina to have a delicious chicken soup for lunch, here is the recipe for those who want to practice it.
I clarify that the chicken I always use to make the soup is fresh, chicken that benefits the day before or the same day in the stores that sell them.
Ingredients:
To make a chicken soup that is enough for 15 people:
- 1 and 1/2 kg of fresh chicken
- 150 grams of sweet chili bell pepper
- 300 grams of onion
- 100 grams of chives
- 150 grams of celery, parsley and cilantro
- 150 grams of garlic in grains
- 2 cubes or cubes of chicken stock concentrate (optional)
- 1 kg of pumpkin
- 1 kg of ocumo
- 500 grams of yucca
- 700 grams of celery (root)
- 1/4 cup of oil
- 2 tablespoons of onoto or turmeric
- 6 liters of water
- Oregano and salt to taste
Preparation to my taste:
Chop the chicken into pieces, rinse and set aside.
Chop the aji dulce, onion, scallion, celery, parsley, cilantro and garlic very small.
Place the chicken in a 12-liter pot to fry with the oil, together with the chopped vegetables, reserving half of the chopped garlic for the end of the preparation.
Add the onoto or turmeric to the sauté together with the oregano, the cubes of chicken concentrate and salt to taste. Stir and cover for 5 minutes over low heat to amalgamate the flavors of the chicken with the vegetables and seasonings.
Add the water and let the preparation boil while you remove the shells from the ocumo, yucca and celery. Wash the vegetables and cut them into not so small pieces and add them to the preparation.
Remove the seeds from the pumpkin, cut into not so small pieces and add to the preparation.
Let the preparation boil for 30 minutes and at the end of that time, prick the vegetables with a fork, if they are soft, correct the salt level.
Particularly, I like to pour in a blender glass several pieces of celery and pumpkin together with the garlic I reserved and some of the liquid from the soup and blend.
Add the liquid to the soup, stir and taste, if you like you can correct the salt level, let it boil for five more minutes and ready, enjoy a Sunday soup with the family.
