One of the most delicious Indonesian cuisines is called Soto Ayam and it’s a dish that you can find all across the country. It’s made with meaty broth either from chicken stock or beef. Each region in the country has their own specialized recipe and addition. The spices can vary and sometimes people add coconut milk inside their Soto. But in this small town of East Java, Tulungagung, the Soto is served in a small bowl with quite a unique flavor that’s rich in chicken stock and usually served with peanuts. In the past, I have visited another establishment but this one was a lot better as the other one was chicken soup and this one was closest to Soto Ayam.

The uniqueness of this soto ayam is the small bowl and how it’s served with beef skin crackers as well as peanuts. But if you’re allergic to peanuts don’t worry it’s just an addon so, you can definitely opt not to have this one. The combination of crunchy and savory taste was just so heavenly. Despite its small bowl, the portion is enough for a person. The only thing I forgot at that time was not ordering rice as I rarely eat rice for soupy meals and would rather have them in a separate bowl. But after all, they’re part of the experience. So, I was okay with it. In the end, I love that place better than the first one we visited before.

Apparently, for some people including my dad, he can eat 2 bowls of that soup.It's quite reasonable amount and as you can see above, they're also quite generous in giving the chicken meat. They also add some parts from the chicken innards but you obviously you can opt for that one as well.

The place is quite humble and it's particularly tricky to find though following a google map would let you to this place. For a bowl, it starts from $0.80 and you can spend up to $2 for a person especially if you think one bowl isn't enough.
