What’s up folks!
For many of you, December is the month of holidays because of Christmas and around that time, no matter where they live the whole year, all the members of a family come together and enjoy the best days of the year with each other and also enjoy great stuff like cooking lucrative dishes and enjoying family feasts, outings, cake cutting, and Christmas tree decorations etc. But for this little space on earth, the major holidays of the year are coming sooner next month as the Durga puja festival is knocking on our doors. There’s a nice saying being used here that the celebrations of every Religion bring more harmony, as everybody partakes and enjoys every celebration no matter if he or she belongs to that religion or not. Durga puja festival is celebrated in the Hindu religion and mostly among Bengalis each year, millions of people come from other districts and states of the country to Kolkata city and also, and thousands of foreign tourists join this mega celebration. But, as of today, less than 1 month left for that mega event to happen, so it’s shopping time around here every offline market is filled with people, and online shopping apps like Amazon and Flipkart are also having a hard time delivering millions of things in right time. It is such a crazy atmosphere right now in our state like every year and I have also started preparing for this upcoming grand holidays and festival.
I , my wife and my brother recently went for offline shopping in the city market area which is filled with gigantic shopping malls, branded showrooms, and local shops. By the time we reached there, the crowd was so thick on the roads and inside the shops and malls that we could only see blackheads all around. However, we keep fighting our way into those malls and shops and after hours of battling and trying to buy some good dresses for ourselves, all our energy gets drained out and we become exhausted and hungry at the same time. So all of us 3 decided to find a good restaurant to take some rest sitting there while enjoying some warm and delicious dishes to fill our tummy.
After a little online research, I found a newly opened kebabs shop named Dilli 6 just nearby. Dilli is the capital of India and a famous place for its delicious variety of kebabs and biriyani. But I didn't know of any of their famous restaurants that have opened a branch recently in our city as well. We couldn't resist tasting their dishes because they are really old and famous and once you taste their finger-licking kebabs, you can't forget the taste for the rest of your life they say. So without further ado, we rushed to that restaurant and luckily found ourselves 3 seats as well. In the above picture, I have shared the outlet of the restaurant which was small and narrow looking but I certainly know that buying or renting a small place in this so costly posh area is like having an acre in heaven. However, as we entered we quickly found out that during the entry, the place looked small but, they were much bigger inside and also acquired the whole upper floor as well for the dining.
However, after taking our seats we looked at the menu, and never had I ever seen so many varieties of kebabs in my whole life. So, I went wild and ordered the one that looked the most alien to me and after waiting for like half an hour, we finally got served the dish with flatbreads. The kebab that we ordered came with gravy and it was not spicy but creamy with a unique but delicious taste I admit I never had this type of taste experienced before. We liked the combo and within some minutes we emptied the kebabs and breads. We wanted to re-order but it was already too late and we had still some more things to buy, so we thanked the chef and waiters for their effort and hospitality and left the restaurant. It was a hectic day for us but that kebab helped us forget all the tiredness and soothe our hearts with a unique experience.
