Hi friends, how you doing?, I want to update my blog starting with describing the flavours of a place I visited for the first time weeks ago, I have been missing again, but I will be uploading today my continuation of our family days at Easter, because better late than never.
Hola amigos, ¿cómo se encuentran?, quiero actualizar mi blog empezando por describir los sabores de un lugar que visité por primera vez hace semanas, he estado desaparecida otra vez, pero estaré subiendo hoy mi continuación de nuestros días en familia en la Semana Santa, porque mejor tarde que nunca.
In this opportunity I bring some pictures of the visit to this place, called the "Gran Llanero", we visited this restaurant by recommendation of a man who was on the beach, (yes, that day we were on the beach), our time by the sea was not prolonged because as I mentioned in my last publication, there were many people and we are not lovers of being in high temperatures, therefore, we left the place for lunch. When we arrived at the Gran Llanero, the place had large tables, ideal for a large family like ours, we saw the menu and it seemed to have one of the typical llanero dishes, cachapas with hand cheese and pork, besides there were combos of roast chicken with yucca, arepitas, in short, the combos were quite complete, from 5$ for a combo of a quarter of chicken, to the whole chicken for 18$.
En esta oportunidad traigo algunas fotos de la visita a este lugar, llamado el “Gran Llanero”, visitamos este restaurante por recomendación de un señor que se encontraba en la playa, (sí, ese día estuvimos en la playa), nuestro tiempo a orillas del mar no fue prolongado pues como mencioné en mi última publicación, hubo mucha gente y no somos amantes de estar a altas temperaturas, por lo tanto, nos retiramos del lugar para el momento del almuerzo. Cuando llegamos al Gran Llanero, el lugar tenía mesas amplias, ideal para una familia numerosa como la nuestra, vimos el menú y parecía tener uno de los platillos llaneros típico, cachapas con queso de mano y cochino, aparte había combos de pollo asado con yuca, arepitas, en fin, los combos estaban algo completos, desde los 5$ por un combo de un cuarto de pollo, hasta el pollo entero por 18$.
We didn't wait long for the food, if I say it was 10 minutes I think I would be exaggerating, the chicken had a somewhat interesting look, with a sauce on top, this sauce was a bit tasty, but I must be honest, it's not the best I have tasted, there was also salad in the combo, which was super fresh and tasted good, Something that surprised me because the times I have tasted street food, the salad is the first thing that tastes weird or is a little overcooked and this is a health hazard, continuing with the menu of the dish, the arepitas and yuccas were regular, not that I am a big fan of eating arepitas, I admit it, my llanera soul leaves my body when it comes to yuccas and arepas. When it came time to try the roast chicken, it wasn't as delicious as I thought it would be, the skin was browned and well seasoned but the rest of the chicken was plain, parboiled and a bit bland. I got carried away with the impression of seeing it with that sauce and was disappointed.
No esperamos mucho por la comida, si digo que fueron 10 min creo que estaría exagerando, el pollo tenia una imagen algo interesante, con una salsa por encima del mismo, esta salsa estaba un poco rica, pero he de ser sincera, no es de las mejores que he probado, también había ensalada en el combo, la cual estaba super fresca y tenia buen sabor, algo que me sorprendió ya que las veces que he degustado comida callejera, la ensalada es lo primero que tiene un sabor extraño o está algo pasada de tiempo y esto es un peligro para la salud, continuando con el menú del plato, las arepitas y yucas estaban regulares, tampoco es que soy muy fan de comer arepitas, lo admito, mi alma llanera sale de mi cuerpo cuando se trata de yuca y arepas. Cuando llegó el momento de probar el pollo asado, no estuvo tan delicioso como pensé que estaría, su piel si estaba dorada y bien condimentada pero el resto del pollo estaba simplón, sancochado y algo soso. Me dejé llevar por la impresión de verlo con esa salsa, y quedé decepcionada.
After lunch we had a bad experience, because my uncle, who was the one who invited us to lunch, when he went to pay, they wanted to charge him double the original price of the combos ordered, even when the bills were clear. This is not the first time this has happened to us, even in other establishments we have to be aware that it is a problem that has spread, even so, we did not expect them to be so brazen as the bill was much higher than the original price.
Después de almorzar tuvimos una mala experiencia, pues a mi tío, quien fue el que nos invitó al almuerzo, cuando fue a pagar, le quisieron cobrar el doble del precio original de los combos pedidos, incluso cuando las cuentas eran claras. No es la primera vez que nos pasa esto, incluso en otros establecimientos hay que estar pendientes pues, es un problema que se ha extendido, aun así, no esperábamos que fueran tan descarados ya que la cuenta superaba por mucho lo del precio original.
What I take away from all this is the family time, having lunch with loved ones is one of the best experiences, even if the food doesn't taste that good.
Lo que rescato de todo esto, es el momento en familia, almorzar con los seres queridos es de las mejores experiencias, incluso si la comida no sabe tan bien.
