Hola amigos amantes del buen comer, les saludo en esta ocasión desde mi pueblo natal Caripe estado Monagas, donde vine a pasar unos buenos días de paz y tranquilidad. La mamá de una gran amiga de infancia, nos invitó a mi esposo y a mi a disfrutar de una rica sopa de caraotas, por lo que yo puse mi mente a volar y pensar en que llevar para agradecer el gesto y ya que la comida estaba cubierta, decidí hacer una torta básica para completar el momento y es lo que les vengo a compartir el día de hoy.
Hello friends lovers of good food, I greet you on this occasion from my hometown Caripe Monagas state, where I came to spend a few good days of peace and tranquility. The mother of a great childhood friend, invited my husband and me to enjoy a delicious soup of beans, so I put my mind to fly and think about what to bring to thank the gesture and since the food was covered, I decided to make a basic cake to complete the moment and that is what I come to share today.
- 2 tazas de azúcar.
- 250 gr de mantequilla.
- 4 huevos.
- 2 tazas de leche.
- 3y 1/2 tazas de harina de trigo leudante.
- la rayadura de la cascara de un limón.
- 2 cups sugar.
- 250 gr butter.
- 4 eggs.
- 2 cups milk.
- 3 and 1/2 cups of leavening flour.
- the grated rind of a lemon.
En un bol de plástico batimos el azúcar con la mantequilla hasta cremar bien, logrando que la mantequilla logre un color más blanco y luego agregamos las yemas de cuatro huevos. Batimos bien por unos 4 minutos.
In a plastic bowl, beat the sugar with the butter until it creams well, making the butter a whiter color and then add the yolks of four eggs. Beat well for about 4 minutes.
Pasamos entonces a agregar la harina de trigo alternando con la leche, agregamos la rayadura de la cascara del limón, un chorrito de vainilla y seguimos batiendo. Llevamos a punto de nieve las claras de huevo que luego agregamos y batimos de forma envolvente.
Then add the wheat flour alternating with the milk, add the grated lemon peel, a dash of vanilla and continue beating. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks, then add them and beat them in an enveloping way.
La torta es de medio kilo y al momento de revisar en casa de mi mamá, ya no estaba la tortera de ese tamaño, así que tomé una paila la enmantequillé, enharine, agregué la mezcla de la torta y lleve al horno, rogando que no se pegara y todo saliera bien. Cociné por 40 minutos.
The cake is half a kilo and when I checked at my mother's house, there was no cake pan of that size, so I took a pan, buttered it, floured it, added the cake mixture and took it to the oven, praying that it would not stick and that everything would turn out well. I baked for 40 minutes.
La prueba de la paila fue un éxito la torta quedó super, esperé un rato, desmolde y aquí está una bella y deliciosa torta para compartir con buenos amigos y pasar un gran momento.
I waited a while, unmolded it and here is a beautiful and delicious cake to share with good friends and have a great time.
Llegamos y la sopa estaba aún cocinándose en un reverbero u hornilla artesanal que sirve para cocinar al aire libre. Llegó el momento de servir y disfrutar de un rico plato de sopa de carotas que nos supo a gloria, luego un rico café, buena plática, trajeron los trozos de torta y de broma me dieron tiempo a tomar una foto al último trozo jajaja.
Los momentos con amigos y familia se disfrutan, se aprecian y se guardan en un lugar muy especial en nuestros corazones. Todos agradecieron la torta así como yo la rica sopa, de eso se trata la vida. Saludos amigos y nos leemos pronto.
We arrived and the soup was still cooking in a reverbero or handmade stove used for outdoor cooking. It was time to serve and enjoy a delicious bowl of carotas soup that tasted like glory, then a delicious coffee, good conversation, they brought the pieces of cake and as a joke they gave me time to take a picture of the last piece hahaha.
The moments with friends and family are enjoyed, appreciated and kept in a very special place in our hearts. Everyone appreciated the cake as much as I did the delicious soup, that's what life is all about. Greetings friends and see you soon.
