Greetings of the day Hivers!
Its been quite a long time that I did not post a recipe on my blog! I actually have a lot of recipe posts to share with you, but the thing is that I just can't find the time to do it these days!
But once Ramadan is over, for sure you gonna see a lot of recipe posts on my blog! A real lot!!!
So today was a little cold and it has been a rainy day too...
Nothings beats a good Crab Soup with Fish balls in such weather conditions!
Let me show you how I did it!
Ingredients needed:
- Crabs - Cleaned and washed
- Chopped red onion
- Chopped fresh garlic
- Herbs (Coriander leaves and roots / Curry leaves)
- Salt, pepper and spices (Cumin, turmeric and coriander seeds)
- Chopped fresh tomatoes or puree
- And fish balls which we just cut in halves
Let's Cook!
- Heat oil in a cooking pan and add the onion. Let it sweat and softened!
- Add the chopped garlic and herbs!
- Mix everything together and let cook for 2 minutes - Keep on stirring for not burning!
- Add all the spices and season with salt and pepper.
- This is how the cooked onion with the spices should look like!
In goes the crab!!!
- Add the cleaned and washed crabs in the cooking pan.
- Mix well with the spiced onion.
- Let cook for about 5 minutes, you will notice water coming out from the crabs.
- Now add in fresh chopped tomatoes or puree if you don't have fresh ones. Cook for further 5 minutes until everything is well mixed together!
- Add water or chicken/fish stock to the cooking pan, till the crabs are well covered!
- When it starts boiling, take out that foam...we call it impurities in the culinary world. Get rid of it with the help of a spoon!
- Let boil for about 12 minutes.
- Add the cut fish balls.
- Cook for further 5 minutes...check the seasoning again...and BAM...your soup is ready!
Transfer to a soup bowl and enjoy very hot!
You can add some chili paste if you like to spice it further!
Enjoy with some nice crispy bread on the side!
Bon Apetit!!!
This crab soup with fish balls was on my iftaar table earlier today...I will share my 8th table just after this post!
Until then, wish you a pleasant day/evening ahead!
Thank you!
