Yes my foodies friends...today we have completed 2 days of fasting on this side of the world and I am happy to share my 2nd Iftaar table with you! Hope you'll like it!
Let's go for it...
Below is the table set, but without the main dish which was still cooking at that time as well as the Harira soup which was also on the fire...
Tagliatelle with the fresh shrimps I recently caught...
The main dish for today was the tagliatelle that my wife cooked just before breaking the fast...
It was with the shrimps that I recently caught when I went to fish, tomato sauce and fresh cream with a lot of cheese!!!
It was amazingly good...super yummy!!! You can see the pasta in the yellow bowl below...
Chicken Tikka and Halfmoon as fried snacks...
We only had 2 items that were fried on the table...chicken tikka which is simply breaded chicken cutlets seasoned with spices and Halfmoon which is stuffed with cheese and sweet corn!
Dates / Figs / Chebakia / Almond Briouat
As mentioned yesterday, there are quite some items that are repeated everyday...like the ones named above!
These are such important foods to have during Iftaar with some chilled water! They are the basics and the most recommended foods to have when breaking the fast!
Sautéed green leaves with Flat Breads!
I bought some green leaves earlier today at the market and told my wife to cook for Iftaar...
After cooking, the dish gave out a reddish/purple color...which looks interesting and delicious too! We had it with flat breads!
Here's a closer look at that famous sauteed green leaves...
You can see how the onions turned red/purple in color...quite bizarre but super yummy!!!
Overall it was a nice table with delicious foods to enjoy...with some chocolates too!!! Oh well...everyone loved the foods!
My wife as usual had a bowl of Harira soup and also the Moroccan Mint Tea as well as my Mauritian Vanilla & Milk tea were present!
So here we are friends, a little presentation of some of the foods that were present on our Iftaar table at my place earlier today!
I hope you've enjoyed this 2nd one and looking forward to the next!
Until then, I wish you all a pleasant day/evening ahead!
Best Regards!
