Today we completed the 2nd day fasting for the holy month of Ramadan in Mauritius.
In some other parts of the world, I think they completed the 3rd day and others already started the 4th!
Yesterday I started sharing my daily Iftaar table that I set up at home to break our fast.
I will be sharing my daily Iftaar table for the full month of Ramadan exclusively on my hive blog, hope you enjoy this little series!
Let's go for my iftaar table number 2!!!
ps. My hive mug and water bottle made their appearance today!
Almond Briwat
These are the sweet version of samosas...filled with almond paste and dipped in honey after frying!
Chocolate and Cheese Naan
This one will be present very often on my iftaar tables during the month of Ramadan!
We also have naans with pizza stuffing or with chicken or meat versions!
My favorites are the cheese and chocolate ones!
😋😋😋
Red Velvet!!!
Oh yes...got this one from my nephew...it is his wife's birthday today and sent some pieces of this Red Velvet cake with vanilla frosting for us to enjoy!
Fruits!!!
We do have a lot of different tropical fruits on the island but the ones I used today are all imported ones...
These plums were soo sweet!
Cut some apples too!
We don't cultivate apples in Mauritius! All imported mainly from Egypt and South Africa!
The 4 fruits you see here are also not local!!!
Grapes/Peach/Kiwi/Green Apple
The fried snacks!
On that rectangular plate, there were 6 different fried snacks:
- Cheese croquette
- Chicken catelesse
- Chili bites
- Beef samosas
- Chicken Risolle
- Chana Puri
All served with a hot coriander and tomato chutney!!!
😋😋😋
After Ramadan, I will try to share the recipes of each of the snacks we have on the table!
For the beverages of the day, we had milk tea, mint tea, mango-camomille iced tea, water, juices and soft drink.
So here we are friends for my 2nd iftaar table for this Ramadan month!
Hope you like it!
Stay tuned for the 3rd one tomorrow...
Already thinking about what to prepare for table number 3!!!
🤔🤔🤔
Wish you all a pleasant day/evening ahead!
Be well!
